Please pray for my mom

Ladies,

I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be blogging as much for a while. My mom has been diagnosed with stomach cancer that has spread to her liver. She has a biopsy on Thursday and then we will know more.

She had been having trouble with her heart the past few months, so this diagnosis was completely unexpected.

I had been taking tons of pictures of many projects I had completed for my family reunion I had at my house this past Thursday. I look forward to sharing them with you, but right now my mom is my priority.

I want to spend as much time with her as I possibly can. She is my inspiration.

For any of you who believe in the power of prayer as I do, I beg you to lift my sweet mother up to the throne of God. Pray for her healing.

God bless all of you,
Traci

Lord, you are the Great Physican and we know that you can do all things. We ask you to heal Traci's mom of cancer, make her well with renewed energy, and astound all her doctors, friends, and family around her for Your glory. Give Traci and her family a sense of peace during this difficult time and surround them with prayer warriors and lots of people who care. Thank you Lord, we love you. In your wonderous name, Amen.

  5. Oh Traci,
I am so sorry. I will be praying for your mom and for you as well. My Mom had cancer and she is our walking miracle. If you need anything let me know. Be sure and go to appointments with her. I don't know if your Dad is still around but they will need another person to hear things because they will not be able to recall info. I had a dear friend share this bit of advice when we found out and it helped so much. My Mom was so sick and my Dad was such a mess he couldn't recall anything.

  6. Dear Traci~ My heart is crying for you and I will keep you and your mother in my prayers. I know God always answers our prayers, sometimes just not the way we ask, but always for what we need. And sometimes it takes a while for us to see his wisdom. Your mother is so special, and you are right she is your first priority right now. We love you and will agree with you and pray for her healing.
    Love you,
    Pat

  7. Traci, I am very saddened to hear of your mother's illness. Being with her as much as possible during this time will be a decision you will not ever regret. I will be thinking of you, your mother, and all of those who hold her so near and dear to their hearts.

  8. Oh Traci, Honey I will be praying for your Mom that God will encircle her with angels and help guide the Dr.s in the direction they need to go to help heal her of this horrible disease. Please God give Traci's Mom peace as the Dr.s work on her to find a way to keep her here on earth with Traci and her family for years to come. We just pray that you give Traci peace too Lord so that she can handle the stress of being a Mom of 4 lovely boys and keep up with taking care of her Mom. Lord we just thank you for answering our needs as we ask of them. In your precious name we pray, Amen and Amen. Honey, I will be praying for your Mom and you both. Please remember my niece Amy as she goes to surgery tomorrow at 1:30pm Oklahoma time. We are looking at a 10-15 hour sugery. The cancer invaded her carotid artery and she will be having a radical neck dissection tomorrow. Her tumor is 5. x 3. centimeters, so they will be removing quite a bit of her neck. This is a scary one. She has had cancer since she was 10 years old – 3 different types and times. She is 33 years old. (23 years of her life off and on) she has battled cancer with chemo and radiation. This time she has taken 14 months of chemo and radiation and now the surgery. This surgery is a life saving surgery. Without it, we are going to lose her. She is down to 74 pounds and has not been able to eat for over 3 weeks now. They put her in the hospital on Friday and started feeding her through her port tube, a sustance called hyperal. This goes directly to her veins so there is no waste. It feeds her body. She needed the strength to prepare for this surgery tomorrow. They will release her in the morning from the local hospital to be transported to Okla. City where she will have her surgery. She will be in ICU for possibly a week before she is moved to a room. Please pray for us too Traci, we need so many prayers. This cancer is awful and through prayer I feel we can resolve some of this. We can help guide the Dr.s in the direction they need to go to help our families. I will be praying for you. I will post something either late Monday or sometime Tuesday in regards to Amy's surgery. Much love and prayers, Sherry

  11. Traci, I posted your Mother & you for prayers today. I hope you will all be lifted in the healing hands of our Lord, & I have asked St. Jude, the helper of the helpless to hear our prayers also. Blessings, TTFN ~Marydon

  12. I definitely will keep you and your Mom in my prayers. Your absence is very understandable! Take the time you need to be with your Mom! Hugs!

  13. Hi Traci:
I found a website that has a mustard seed necklace that I am going to order for myself, and I wanted you to know where I found it. Go to: http://www.jewelry-for-christians.com/mustard_seed_jewelry.html

Matthew 17:20 "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed… Nothing will be impossible for you."

I thought this was a really good price, and it is like Amy's necklace. Moma bought us all one, but the problem is, someone stole mine when our house was robbed years ago and they stole my jewelry box. I am going to get me another one so that I can start wearing it. I have missed it. I need it to remind me every day. Ofcourse I think all Christian stores carry them. You could also check your local store.

When I talked to Debbie last night, she told me she was going to come over and drop you a line, we are like that Traci. We share prayers and pray for all families, as we know the strength in numbers. God is so good and he is going to see us through this, we know this to be true. Debbie called this morning and told me that they were leaving the hospital in Enid and would be transporting Amy to the Oklahoma City. She is going to call me when they call the waiting room and let them know that the surgery has begun. I will post things on the blog as I hear from her today. I could not go in to work today. My heart just was not in it. I needed to be here staying busy. Thank you my friend for blessing me today. Thank you. Love, Sherry

  14. So sorry that your Mother has received such terrible news…will keep your family and your Mother in my prayers. Stay strong and remember to take care of yourself

  15. Dear Traci, Prayers for healing for your mother and strength for you and your family. You are all in my thoughts and my prayers. I am a friend of Sherry and Debbie.
    Hugs across the miles!

  16. I am so sorry, Traci! I know how scary that is. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was in college and it devastated me. I will pray right now.
Thanks also for the info about uploading pictures! I am going to look into it. Blogger is really on my nerves.
    God bless!!
    Steph

  17. Traci,

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. My sister and I went through the same thing with our mother in 2006. My I make a suggestion that may help with questions, etc during this trying time? We kept a journal between us of questions that we or our dad had. That journal went to the doctor with us. As her illness progressed, we kept daily notes of medications, intake, out put, etc. It certainly helped us to keep track of what was going on, especially as we traded days like you do. I will be thinking of you and your family as you move through these trying times. Take care, Marnita
