My Seaside Villa

Last week, we vacationed at Hilton Head Island, and I wanted to share some pictures of our Seaside Villa.

Okay, we didn’t really stay at a Seaside Villa, but we did stay in a cute little condo!  :)

My husband is a banker and one of his customers let us stay at her condo for the “family price”.  It was a three bedroom/two bath condo, and I was super excited about the space.

Two years ago, we stayed at a little, one bedroom condo that had some bunk beds stuck inside the wall, and let me just say we were packed in there like sardines!

Being a family of six, five of which are from the male species, we definitely need more elbow room.

So I was so excited when we walked into our condo this year to find wide open spaces!

And to top it off, it was decorated so adorably!

Here is what we saw when we walked in the front door…

I immediately fell in love with the table in chairs.  The table had a beautiful dark stain on top with painted off-white legs.  It was surrounded by four beautiful wicker chairs…great texture, and flanked on each end with matching off white wooden chairs.

The napkins were from Pier 1 and were adorned with beautiful flower napkin rings.

I couldn’t help but think of how long it would take for my boys to destroy this gorgeous table setting!

Behind the table was a beautiful off-white, distressed hutch decorated with coastal items.

It actually reminded me a little of the hutch I painted for my den.  Do you remember this post?  The one where we turned an old, ugly, brown corner hutch into an open, refreshing, white hutch?  It’s one of my all time favorite DIY projects.  If you missed it, click HERE to see the amazing transformation (below)!

Both hutches have a bead board backing!

The condo hutch was decorated with cute little lighthouses…

My grandmother, Nannie, loved lighthouses.  And I do too.

They remind me of so many wonderful scriptures about “light”.

Like when Jesus said, “I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me, should not abide in darkness.”  John 12:46

The hutch also held a bulletin board that displayed menus from local restaurants…

The red baskets on the bottom shelf were filled with games and cards to play with.  And they coordinated perfectly with the red furniture across the room.

How cute are those pillows?  They matched the cutest little bamboo chair in the corner…

And the red gingham pillow in the cute little bamboo chair matched the huge oversized chair and ottoman on the other side of the room…

Boy, was this chair comfortable!

In the middle of the den was a huge coffee table, and the owners did something really clever with it.

They put coastal puzzles underneath the glass…

How cute is that?  And they probably completed the puzzles together as a family because I found the empty puzzle boxes in one of the side tables by the couch.  What a great family memory!

My hubby was pretty excited about the big black accessory on top of this table…

Our bedroom was simple and neat (with a tv too!)…

The second bedroom had twin beds with a nautical theme.  The quilts had the cutest little ships on them and coordinated perfectly with the blue gingham bed skirt…

Here is a picture of the whole room…(pay no attention to the lamp disquised as a  “snowman orb” in the middle of the picture )

Adam and Luke stayed in that room, and it also had a tv with a dvd player on a dresser in the corner of the room.  They were loving life since they are never allowed to have a tv in their rooms at home!  :)

The third bedroom is where Jonathan stayed.  Eli was supposed to sleep with him, but somehow he ended up sleeping with Mommy and Daddy every night.

This room looked like the perfect “pre-teen” boy’s room, don’t you think?…

And since Jonathan turned 11 (going on 25) while we were on vacation, this room was perfect for him!

It too, had a tv.  We had to keep a very close eye on what the boys watched because there were no “channel locks” on any of the tvs (like we have at home).

As a side note, I cannot tell you how disgusted I am with the filth that is shown on our tvs!  It scares me to death to think of what so many precious little minds are exposed to on a daily basis.  Parents, please protect your children’s hearts and minds by protecting their eyes from the trash on tv.

Okay, I’m jumping off my soap box!

Here are a few more pictures that didn’t turn out so great, but I am sharing them anyway.  :)

Our boys’ bathroom…

The kitchen…

The boys ate breakfast everyday on those bar stools.

We certainly loved where we stayed, but we also enjoyed getting out to enjoy the sand and the surf!

I will be sharing more pictures of our vacation on Thursday, so be sure to stop back by!

And don’t forget about my “Salad Party” on Friday.

If you have a favorite salad recipe you would like to link up to the party, I would love to have you!  I will have Mr. Linky up and running on Thursday night around 9:00 p.m.

Have a blessed day!
