A Touch of Fall

Well, it doesn’t feel like fall this week with temperatures close to 90 degrees, but I have added some fall touches to my house.

Okay, really just one fall touch.

Working full time has really slowed me down, ladies!

So I am celebrating the little things around my house.

Here’s my little thing:

The buffet in my house usually looks like this…

Last year, when Mom passed away, the ladies I worked with at Mom’s Day Out gave me a beautiful fall wreath centerpiece with a candle in the middle of it.

I put in on my kitchen table and it looked wonderful, but my two year old at the time kept picking at the berries on the wreath and making a mess.

So I decided this year, it might be a better idea to hang the wreath up.

I hung the wreath over the mirror above my buffet.

I hung it with burlap ribbon that I bought at JoAnn’s Fabrics.  I absolutely love this stuff!  (I know…shocker…Traci loves burlap.)

Seriously, this ribbon is delicate and delicious.  Yes. I said delicious.

I am still playing around with ways to decorate the buffet.  For now, I just made a table runner from brown burlap (insert shocked look on your face).

This is the beverage server and Verde berry bowl that I got with my free bonus points from my Willow House party!  I love them!

The berry bowl usually holds grapes or cherries in my fridge (it’s actually a strainer), but I thought it looked really cute with the little white pumpkins in it.

I can’t wait to use my beverage server at the next get-together I host.  Won’t it look great filled with sweet tea or lemonade?

So there you have it.  My fall touch.

I hope to do a few more things around the house and on the front and back porch, and I will be sure to share some pictures.

If you want a to see a plethora of fall ideas (wow, did I just say plethora?  are you impressed?) you need to go see Melissa at The Inspired Room.  She hosted a Fall Nesting Party last week that is full of Fall goodness.  Check it out!

Have a great day!

  1. I REALLY love this idea. I recently hung a large mirror in my entryway and just have that “off” feeling every time I look at it because the scale is all wrong. But to hang a wreath over it might make me love it like I meant to, at least until I find another great spot to hang the mirror.
