Hello Beneath My Heart readers! I am Beckie from Infarrantly Creative and Knock Off Decor, my newly launched site. I am excited to pop over to Traci’s house to say hi to ya’ll (I think that is how Traci says it, right?)
I am a lover of all things creative. My absolute favorite projects are my Roadkill Rescue projects where I find curbside castaways and turn them into usable, and beautiful decor for my home. Today’s project started out as Roadkill. Yes, I know you see why someone threw this away. It is altogether hideous. I am sorry if this is yours and you hand painted it. Forgive me for my frank analysis. But someone must have hated it also since they threw it away. just sayin.
I liked the shape and knew it was just the perfect size for me to store all of my bath products in. I LOVE taking bubble baths and perusing the latest Pottery Born or Ballard Designs catalog. However, they end up all over my bathroom floor because I have no place for them. We needed to fix that.
I lightly sanded the duckies and the rest of the caddy with 120 grit sandpaper and then I primed and painted it. For the paint, I mixed Glidden Smoky Charcoal with Behr’s Pearlesent Medium.
It looked much better but it still needed more. After I distressed it a bit, I mixed some glaze with some Deco Art Silver paint and glazed it with that. Then I added some black acrylic paint to my glaze and glazed it again. It gave it the perfect depth of color I was shooting for.![]()
In honor of Traci’s Silhouette giveaway I decided to use my Silhouette and add some premium vinyl to the side of the caddy using the words, “Restore, Revive, Refresh, Renew, Rejuvenate.” Those words truly describe how I feel about this little luxury of life.![]()
