Organizing Your Heart and Home 2011

Ack!  I am so excited about this series!!!

My sister, Cyndi, and I are doing a series for the month of January called Organizing your Heart and Home.

I hate to admit it, but this series was actually my sister’s idea.  (gulp)  That was hard to swallow.  :)

But I  actually think she came up with a great idea!

Did I mention how excited I am about this series?!!!  Why am I so excited?  Because I need to get organized!!!

Working full time since this past June has gotten me all out of whack…and my house is showing it.  :)

So for the next four Mondays in January, we are going to be sharing tips about how to organize your heart and home.

I am going to be sharing how to organize your home, and my sister is going to share how to organize your heart.

(Cyndi thinks she has the more important part. Well…she does…but the only reason I gave her the “heart” part is because I knew she wouldn’t be able to handle doing the “home” part.  Shhh…don’t tell her.)

Seriously, this series is going to be so much fun.

But it will only be fun if you JOIN US!  Won’t you?

Here is the low down on what I have planned…

If you will join me, I am going to lead us in organizing four parts of our home: closets, kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room.

Next Monday, I am going to share with you how I organized THAT closet in my home.  You know the one…every time you open the doors to THAT closet, you say, “This closet is driving me crazy!”

(sheknows.com)

Yeah…that’s the one.  I am going to organize THAT closet in my home and show you the before and after pictures.

Then you have one week to find THAT closet in YOUR home that needs to be organized

and get ‘r done!

The following Friday, I will have a linky party where you can post your BEFORE/AFTER pictures of your closet.

Yeah!  I can’t wait to see your organized closets!

The next week, you will pick a part of your kitchen that needs to be organized…drawer, cabinet, pantry, etc.

Are you feelin’ this?…

Then we will organize our bathrooms and our laundry room in the following weeks.

Ladies, we are going to be so organized by the end of January we will not be able to stand it!!!

Here’s the schedule:

Monday, January 10 – Organizing Your Closet (I will share my reorganized closet.)

Friday January 14 – Before/After *Linky Party of YOUR Closet Makeovers (One winner will be chosen from all the entries for a fabulous giveaway!)

Monday, January 17 – Organizing Your Kitchen (I will share my reorganized pantry.)

Friday, January 21 – Before/After *Linky Party of YOUR Kitchen Makeovers (One winner will be chosen from all the entries for a fabulous giveaway!)

Monday, January 24 – Organizing Your Bathroom (I will show you my reorganized bathroom.)

Friday, January 28 – Before/After *Linky Party of YOUR Bathroom Makeovers (One random winner will be chosen from all of the entries for a fabulous giveaway!)

Monday, January 31 – Organizing Your Laundry Room (I will reveal my new laundry room!)

Friday, February 4th – Before/After *Linky Party of YOUR Laundry Room Makeover (One random winner will be chosen from all of the entries for a fabulous giveaway!)

***All Linky Parties will remain open throughout the weekend if you need more time to complete your makeover.  :)  Winner of the giveaway will be announced the following Monday.

Got it?

Did I make sense?

So here is what I need to do in this week:

Be thinking about THAT closet in your home that needs to be organized, the part of the kitchen that needs a little sprucing, the bathroom in your home that needs help, and what changes you could make in your laundry room.

And if you can’t join me every week, maybe you can pick the area of your home that needs the most work and join me in reorganizing it!  :)

Then TOGETHER, we are going to GET ‘R DONE!

But let’s not forget about the most important part of this series…Organizing our Hearts!

My sister is going to be sharing with us each week how we can organize our hearts in 2011.

And let’s be honest, if our hearts are beautiful, our lives (and homes) will be beautiful.

I know that I need to do some rearranging in my heart this year.  Won’t you join me?

Click HERE or the button below, to hop on over to my sister’s blog and start organizing your HEART in 2011!

I know God has many blessings in store for us as we strive to Organize our Hearts and Homes in 2011!

Leave me a comment letting me know if you will be joining me in this series.  I would love to visit your blog and say hi!

Oh Yeah!

I almost forgot!

Here is a cute little button I made for our series!

It took me over 5 hours to make it, so I need some major props here, ladies!

Isn’t it cute?

Don’t you want to put it on your blog because it is oozing with cuteness?

Okay, here’s the text code!

I would be honored if you shared this series with your readers.

  1. This is such a wonderful idea! I organized my kitchen this weekend, and it made such a difference. It’s really liberating to get rid of stuff and be able to find what you have so that you can use it. Now I need to tackle the rest of my house. Doing it a little each week seems so much more doable than to do it all in a weekend.

    Soooo excited to join you!

  2. Hey Traci! :) I LOVE this idea! I have several areas of my home that I’ve been putting off re-doing and this is just the kick in the pants I need to get started! :) (that, and I need fodder for my blog! lol) Hope you have a great week and get everything organized!! Guess I should go and get started! :)
    Hugs girlie!

  5. I am joining you and your sister. It is so funny because my hubby and I spend nye doing our closet, the pantry and the kitchen. I forgot to take pictures of the kitchen but I have closet ones. 9. What a WONDERFUL idea! I don’t have a blog, but this might just be the last little bit of motivation I need to start it!! We are getting organized because we are planning to sell our home this spring!!

  10. What a great idea! I love it!!! Though I don’t have a laundry room or closet, I guess the areas where my clothes are kept and my little kitchen are dying need of makeovers.
I’m happy to have found your blog and I look forward to these events!!!

  11. Count me in. I have a few spaces on my “to do” list just waiting to get organized and this is the extra push I need to finally get it done.

  15. Definitely will be linking up for at least one of these organization projects…would love to do them all, but don’t want to make a promise I can’t keep! Looking forward to your posts! I need some organization ideas!

  16. I am looking forward to participating. I got the link from your sisters blog. Both my heart and home need a LOT of organising so you ladies have your work cut out for you!

  17. Okay, so I read this post yesterday and got really motivated! I headed over to Wally world this morning to load up on plastic storage totes for my organization, and literally ended up pushing two carts filled with totes, file folders, baskets, etc, to organize my laundry room. I ended up seeing everyone I know at the store and of course, had to explain what I was doing with all this stuff. Long story short — I wrote your blog address down for three women who now want to get organized, too! I WILL conquer this chaos!

  18. So, a bedroom that I use as a closet does classify as a closet right? That is my goal for this week, make my “closet” into a guest bedroom. Do you think I can do it? I am going to try!!! GO ME

  19. Count me in too. I just “organized” my pantry! It took three hours and I know that I have much yet to do! I started by checking each and every bottle, can and bag for dates. Through out the old stuff and put the rest back in. I am praying this month that the Lord leads me in cleaning my house as if I were cleaning it for Him! We must live to serve the Lord with a Joyful heart in ALL of the things that we do. I figure that if I get the house in order of this next month, keep up will not be so hard. God Bless!!
