My House is Now Visible from the Road!

Hey friends!

I am so excited to share with you some more work we have completed on the house.

One of the things we knew we would change as soon as we bought the house was the view from the road.

The house was completely hidden by a big beautiful tree.

At first, we thought about cutting the whole tree down.

But instead, we decided to trim it up a little bit and see how that looked.

So my husband spent a whole day doing this…

And the boys and I spent the whole day doing this…

It was in the 90’s that day, but the boys were troopers!

Even my little guy got in on the action….

Now you can see our home from the road!

I love it!

We also did a lot more clearing out around the property that I will share with you soon!

Have a blessed day!

  1. Good job! I am so glad you are painting the front door black. It will change the whole look! What a difference a little (I know, a lot!) trimming makes! Beee u tee full. I am jealous of all that land!

  2. I’m having so much fun seeing the changes evolve on this house just as much as I enjoyed seeing the changes in your other house. This one doesn’t even look at all like the picture when you first bought it. I can’t wait to follow you on this journey! Blessings…

  3. jut lovely, it looks as if you have a beautiful space full of God’s goodness in your new home!! TK xx

  4. It looks great! Trimming the tree was a wonderful solution. May I suggest that you tidy some of those cuts? As a horticulturist, I can tell you that the stumps that are sticking out will either sprout funny little branches that you will forever be removing, or they will just die and look ugly. Here’s a website that shows the best place to trim. http://www.bgky.org/tree/pruning.php

  5. What a beautiful yard and space!!!! Isn’t it amazing what taking down branches can do? Our house couldn’t be seen from the road when we moved in either and we did the same thing. The best part is the beautiful light that the interior gets now!

Enjoy your new house and the journey to transform it into your home! Hard work but so gratifying :)

  6. Hi Traci! I don’t comment often, but I read every post! :)

  9. Certainly aren’t wasting any time, are you? Motivates me to get off the dang computer and get something done!

  10. Trimming the tree made a huge difference! I’m jealous of your property, it looks like an estate or park! We have big homes on teeny tiny lots in our neighbourhood. My son would love to cut your grass!

  11. Wow! you have been busy as beavers since you moved in! It looks so much better, you have such lovely property and beautiful home. I can’t wait to see the columns on your porch painted and your decorating touches added. Great job!
    Have a blessed weekend.

  12. What a beautiful yard you have! I love all the trees, it just looks so peaceful. Looks like you have been very busy :) We have a large yard too and we really enjoy it. I have twin 6 year old boys and I think in the next couple of years they will be fighting over who gets to cut the grass until they become teenagers. Then I think it will be, who has to cut the grass :)
