Pictures and (unedited) Video of the Soon-to-be Staircase

Hey Friends!

Happy Friday!!!

I wanted to quickly show you some progress we have made on the addition to our home.

We now have the cut out for the stairs.

That is the wall that my new skirted desk was on just a week ago!

But now, this room leads into our new master bedroom, and it will be the place where the stairs begin to lead up to the boys’ rooms.

To make some head room for our stairs, and to save square footage upstairs, we decided to add a shed dormer to the top of the house.

Here I am showing Cy what it would look like…

We are “visualizers”.  We have to see something before we can decide if we are going to like it.  We were trying to decide on what type of roof line to use on the dormer.

And yes, Cy got on the roof too, so I would be able to “visualize” it. :)

Here is the shed dormer now.  It will have a dormer window in it and will be wrapped in the same hardy board siding as the rest of the addition.

I took some video of where the stairs will go because I think it helps you to visualize it better.

I have to warn you that this video is “raw”.  I didn’t do any re-takes or edit it.  I left my kids in it, and I may have had to stop and tell them to be quiet a couple of times. :)

Our dog, Champ, makes a cameo appearance too.

And of course, Eli sends some love messages to Layla again.  I think he thinks she is always on the other side of our video camera. :)

I’ve got a lot of projects planned for the weekend!  What are you going to do?  Work? Play? Both?

Oh yeah!  The winner of the $100 Gift Certificate from Kris Watts Photography is…

Andrea Gilliam
Here is Andrea’s comment…

What a terrific way to showcase an incredible woman and her amazing gift! Kris is just as beautiful as the memories she captures! She is such a blessing to our family and we adore her more than words can say. I like her page and would love for her to take photos of my sweet family! Kris is the very best!

Congratulations, Andrea!

I will contact you by email soon. :)
