we have a new faucet!

We have been without a working kitchen sink for about two weeks, and it’s been killin’ me y’all!

Since the water was turned off, I didn’t have a dishwasher either!  Which wasn’t a major problem since their hasn’t been much cooking going on in the kitchen lately.  Smile

But we still had some dishes, and I have been washing them in the boys’ bathroom sink.  It has definitely been inconvenient, but we’ve made it.

My hubby installed our new kitchen faucet yesterday.

Of course, I was wanting a vintage vibe with my faucet so I went with this one from Home Depot.

It is called Glacier Bay Lyndhurst 2-Handle Side Sprayer Bridge Kitchen Faucet in Chrome.

It was the cheapest one I could find for the “look” I was after.

They carry it in oil rubbed bronzed, brushed nickel, and stainless steel but I wanted the shiny chrome.

The best part is that it was only $104.00!  That is a great price, and we love it.

I keep forgetting I have running water and keep heading toward the boys’ bathroom when I need to rinse something out.  But I think I will get used to it quickly.

I love how tall the neck is on the faucet!  It’s perfect.  And it feels so heavy duty.

Oh my, we still have so much to do!  And Sunday is approaching quickly!

No matter what, we will take time to put up our Christmas tree this weekend.  This is definitely, by far, absolutely, without a doubt, no jokin’, the LATEST I have ever put up a Christmas tree in my entire life!

But, it’s all good.

What is your favorite finish on a faucet?

ORB?  Brushed Nickel? Chrome? Stainless Steel?

  1. Traci,
I love it all! The kitchen is looking great and you all are doing a fantastic job! You will get your tree up and everything will get done, it always does! Love you and can’t wait to see you all on Friday for the family Christmas party!

  2. Oh by the way, I love the chrome faucet, too! We put chrome in our new bathroom remodel because it looks so Pottery Barn and some finishes come and go but the chrome finish never goes out of style!

  3. Love, Love, Love the faucet!! I am a shiny chrome girl when it comes to the kitchen faucet. Now my one bath is ORB and the other is brushed nickle. Can ya say, Indecisive??? LOL!! Each room to me is in and of it self. So it deserves the bling that looks the best!! Doing a great job on kitchen reno and by the way, the counter tops are to die for!! Have a blessed day!

  4. Looks great! We just bought Lowes brushed nickel. It was more expensive. I’m bummed! I do like it because it is doesn’t show water spots. I do love the shiny chrome on yours. It looks like jewelry for the kitchen! You’re gonna have a nice Christmas present, girl! Gail

  5. Gorgeous faucet! I love it! I wonder if Jim would go for one like it when we put in new countertops… I might have to do some finagling to get that! Love your countertops too! I want wood countertops so badly, but I’ll be getting laminate since I don’t think the wood would go with the oak that Jim insists we keep! Oh, well. I can live vicariously through your kitchen!

  6. It looks great! And I love the butcher block, too. I hope you don’t mind, but I think I’m stealing your idea! :-) We can’t afford to replace our laminate with granite or anything else, but I figured out it will cost us less than $400 to go with the same Ikea counter tops! (Oh, and I have the exact same paper towel holder – it must be a sign!)

  7. Okay I might of missed the post, but tell me about your counter tops! They look like wood? What kind? Have you had them for a while? So interested because they look amazing! {As does your new faucet!}

  8. So we get to celebrate two Christamases- Orthodox Christmas is January 7 here- you can just join in with us and keep your tree up through then. See?! You’re still weeks ahead of schedule!! :)

  9. Very nice! It all is coming together. Hooray. I chose the brushed nickel since we have hard water and a lot of issues with spots. Grrrr.

  10. Ohhh! This is sooo stunning! What a lovely find! I don’t know if I have an exact preference on faucet finish. It might depend on where it’s at and what my other finishes are in the room!

  11. Love it! Love your counters! We did brushed nickel in the bathroom but it’s not easy to keep clean! I am all about shiny chrome in the kitchen though. Great inspiration!! Thank you!!!

  12. We recently redid our kitchen and I got this same faucet in the oil rubbed bronze, and we love it! I am so happy that your kitchen is coming together so nicely for you and so quickly. I know it may not seem quickly to you, but knowing how long it took to finish ours, I can assure you that it is moving along quickly and ya’ll are doing a beautiful job!

  13. I love the butcherblock countertops with the undermount sink! I wondered how the Ikea butcherblock held up. I was tickled to see the sink is from Erlanger, as I live in Northern Kentucky! We are in the process of buying a house with a neglected kitchen. Thanks for sharing!

  14. Hey girl! Your new faucet looks just terrific!! I love the shiny chrome, to tell the truth–I have brushed nickel in my kitchen, but there’s just something about a shiny faucet that seems so classic. I think you did an awesome job of choosing one that reflects the style you’re going for in this kitchen. And what a great buy you got on it! When you finish your kitchen, you should do a total cost breakdown. I can just imagine your kitchen being featured in a magazine one of these days! :)

  15. Traci,
We’ve lived here almost 6 years and our kitchen faucet has never worked well. The builder put in an all-in-one faucet so it’s hot, cold, handle and sprayer all in one thing. I’m long past ready to replace it, but having a hard time finding a one-hole option that I like. There are very few one-hole options that actually have hot AND cold handles. We have granite, and hubby is leery of anyone drilling in another hole or two. I say it can be done. There are a LOT more options when you have 2-3-or-4 holes to work with. Anyway, enough of me! I LOVE the one you chose. I would always pick one with a gooseneck handle ’cause I just love that look. Good job! I know you’re excited to be able to do dishes again! Well, you know what I mean…

  16. Thats exactly what I would choose! It’s so pretty! And those countertops and sink!! That’s what we plan on doing in our kitchen update…someday!

  17. I love your counters. I am planning a mini kitchen redo- not really changing the foot print but rather updating. I plan on using wood counter tops. I, also, love your sink. Where did you get it?

    Christmas Blessings- Linda

  18. I agree that DIY solutions won’t solve everything. For sure, you can do a lot by yourself and like you said, sometimes it’s as easy as tightening the nut. But I consider myself pretty handy and I still have to call a plumber on occasion when I can’t get leaking to stop. I can keep trying myself and waste money, or I can just get it done.
