Spring makes my heart happy!

When I see my two favorite flowers, daffodils and tulips, blooming all around, I feel so full of joy. There is newness of life everywhere, and I am reminded of God’s unending love for me.

As I have been driving around lately, I have been admiring the gorgeous tulips springing up in people’s yards and beautiful landscapes. They stand up so straight and tall, it looks as if they are shouting, “Just look at me! Aren’t I beautiful!”

It seems I am constantly saying, “Hey boys, look at those tulips!” To which they reply with a lot of oohs and aahs.

I was so excited when I was given the chance to purchase some tulips for this post. I picked up three bunches (two white and one yellow) of fresh cut tulips at my local Kroger store.

I think tulips are easy to decorate with. They look beautiful no matter where you put them!

I had a large white bucket that I thought my tulips would look great in. So I placed all of my white tulips in it and placed it on the counter in my kitchen.

Don’t they look lovely? I place my little white bunny beside the tulips for a touch of Easter, and wrote “He is Risen Indeed!” on my wicker chalkboard.

Then I tried a different arrangement with my tulips. I placed all of my yellow tulips in my hanging wall basket, and placed my wicker chalkboard on the countertop. I think the yellow tulips look amazing against the white backdrop.

So simple. But so beautiful.

Next, I decided to use my little tin buckets for decoration. I got them last year at Goodwill for a dollar a piece.  They had some Christmas stickers that I was able to just peel off.

Then I used some chalkboard labels that I had gotten from Leen the Graphics Queen to place on my tin buckets to hold supplies in my craft closet.

I just wiped off the old words on the buckets and replaced them with “Happy Easter.”

I love the way the tulips look in these little tin buckets.

Lastly, I decided to let the yellow and white tulips hang out together for a while.

I had a wicker basket that I had gotten at Goodwill several years ago for a dollar and spray painted it white.

I cute the tulips stems a little shorter and placed them in little bowls of water that I had hidden in the basket.

They look amazing underneath my wicker chalkboard.

See how wonderfully simple it is to decorate with tulips?

Have you decorated your home with tulips yet?

Tell your husbands that you would rather have tulips as a gift, rather than the traditional roses.  Smile

Tulips are so easy to arrange and decorate with, even your children could help.

And tulips would make a great centerpiece for your Easter table setting.  So stop by your local grocer or florist and buy some tulips today!

  1. Just LOVELY! I love tulips too — I don’t think I’ve gotten any this spring yet. I’ll have to rectify that tomorrow! :)

My husband and I both of Dutch ancestry so the last time we lived here I begged for a trip to Holland to see the tulips in bloom- there’s nothing like FIELDS of them! :)

Oh yes, tulips are definitely my springtime favorite! They look so modern and artsy in a vase, but so cozy and welcoming at the same time :-) Love all the different things you tries with yours!

These are really cute ideas, Traci! Love the tulips in the basket…I have a similar basket just hanging around and will steal this one for my spring decorating, if that’s okay?!? ;O)

  5. So Fresh and Easter-y. The silver buckets with the Easter Greetings are especially nice.
