How to Have Gorgeous Eyelashes!

Hey Friends!

I am having a blast here at the Haven Conference!  Wish you ALL were here!

While I am away, I asked my sis, Cyndi,  to guest post for me.  She has a fabulous blog called Walking in Grace and Beauty where she talks about beauty, fashion, and Jesus.

Yes, you heard me right!  Those three things can go together.  :)  She knows where true beauty comes from and that matters most.  I love my sister’s blog, and  I cannot tell you how many wonderful beauty and fashion tips I have gotten from her.

Like today’s post.  I absolutely love this tip about how to have gorgeous eyelashes!

 Take it away, Cyndi!

Good morning ladies! I know most of the time over here on my sister’s blog you ladies talk about DIY on your home. But, today we’re going to talk about some DIY for our eyelashes.

A few weeks ago I read about how to have gorgeous eyelashes and I wanted to share it with you all because it really works. All you need is an eyelash curler, a blow dryer and mascara. I use volume mascara because my eyelashes are very short.

Here’s what you do to have gorgeous eyelashes:

  • With your blow dryer on low heat, blow air on the curler (especially on the rubber part) for no more than 5 seconds. Touch the metal. If it’s hot, let it cool for a few seconds. You don’t want to burn your eyelid.
  • Open the curler, clamp lashes near the roots. Hold for 10-30 seconds. Never curl lashes after you apply mascara — as the mascara dries, lashes can stick to the curler & be torn from the roots.
Just because I want you to see how great this works, I’ve taken pictures (close-up pictures) of my eye. Oh how I wanted to airbrush these pictures!!
These are my eyelashes before curling or using mascara. Not too pretty.

My eyelashes after using the warm eyelash curler. Better.

These are my eyelashes after using the eyelash curler and mascara. Much better!

Okay, I may not have gorgeous eyelashes, but they look much better after using the warm eyelash curler. I’m hooked!

Thanks Sis for letting me hop over here and share some beauty tips with your sweet readers. I love to share about fashion and beauty on my blog, Walking in Grace and Beauty. Sometimes I even share some things I’ve done to my home. :-) You can follow me on my Facebook page, here. I’d love for you to stop by! Have a blessed day!

  1. It works great! I’ve been doing that for over a year now…ever since I saw a heated eyelash curler for sale at Ulta! I thought, hey, I can do that for no extra charge with my hairdryer! :)

  2. Hi Traci,
I am still in my Haven room and wanted to add something to this post and I am going to blog about this product later. It is called Smart Lash. When I hit menopause six years ago, my lashes got very skimpy after having really really perfect ones all my life. I found Smart Lash six months ago. You put it on like a liquid eyeliner yet it is clear. Let it dry and then on to your eye makeup as usual. It is expensive, but Derm Store has it for $29.00 with free shipping a lot of the time and it lasts forever; I’ve had it over six months and am still on my first tube. Anyway, it makes your lashes grow SUBSTANTIALLY; so much so, that I have stopped using it at intervals because my lashes were so long! I am not being paid to say this either! I didn’t want to try the prescription one in fear of changing my green irises to brown. This product doesn’t have any of those side effects. I first saw it on “The Doctors” and I am never going back!

  3. Thanks for the tip…I feel like as I age my lashes are fading. I look at my little boys and they have the dark, thick lashes I used to have (maybe they took them from me??) I love hearing any tips on how to “fake” the lashes I once had!

  4. Your eyelashes are gorgeous and you my dear, don’t need a single thing airbrushed! Thanks for the tip. I can’t wait to try it.

  5. ~ Thanks for this post! You look gorgeous~!
I am always looking for tips about eyelashes, mascara, as I have really such super straight lashes and when a curl lasts makes my eyes look bigger and gorgeous..

I so love sharing with others about great products I have tried ~ The best ever“ eyelash curler I have ever found is the Hot Lashes heated eyelash curler, makeup Artist kit. Loved the reviews on Amazon and was impressed. There is also a site of the same name Hot Lashes.com.

This curler is exactly like the gold Shu Uemura curler with a sturdy 24K gold plated curler and this small pink heater base. Keeps my straight lashes curling till the next day….and no crimp, only a curl..I so HTH~

  6. I’ve always had sparse lashes and had to gob on mascara.. I tried lots of different things to make them look longer. A few months ago I tried something called Neulash and the results are fantastic. I have thicker, fuller lashes and don’t need nearly as much mascara. :)
