  1. Congratulations!! I’m so happy for y’all. 15 is the Crystal Anniversary (remember those old anniversary charts?). We didn’t register for crystal when we got married–we knew that people wouldn’t be able to afford to give us much of it, so we just didn’t register for it. But there was a pattern I really liked, and Jack had noticed that. For our 15th anniversary, he ordered my crystal for me! Can you imagine? He’s such a sweetie.

Having a good husband is a prize, isn’t it? Especially when you have boys. It’s great for your boys to have such a wonderful man to bring them up. And it’s great for you to have such a wonderful man as a soulmate and partner. Bless you!!

  2. What a great tribute to your husband. Wish more men had the same integrity and so glad that he is yours to cherish! Happy Anniversary to you two :)
    Hugs,
    Bj

  3. Congratulations! DH and I are coming upon our 13th anniversary this fall and we joke that it’s been “12 good years…and one bad one.” It’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day “my husband annoys me because he won’t clean his underwear off the floor,” so thanks for this post; it’s a great reminder that we need to be thankful for the big picture: that our husbands are steadfast, loyal, and hard working…never mind the underwear on the floor.

    Happy anniversary!

    1. Funny! This morning Cy woke me up with a kiss and said, “Happy 15th Anniversary! It’s been a wonderful 14 years.” :)
Our first year was really rough.
He’s not perfect, but he’s perfect for me!
Thanks, and happy early anniversary to you.

  4. What a great post. I only know “know” you and your husband through your blog but he sure seems like a keeper and he’s lucky to have you, too. :) Happy Anniversary!

  5. Congratulations!! You looked amazing on your wedding day! Quick question, what did Cy do when he got to work and found his 100 pennies? I’ve read your love story 3 times and I love it! It’s so romantic. You can feel how much you love him through your words.

    Have a wonderful day celebrating!

    1. Thanks, MarLaney!
Cy said he could hardly stay at work. I know he called his parents and sisters. And I think he started making plans to buy the ring.
      It’s fun to reminisce.

  8. Congratulations on Fifteen Special Years! I know how you feel towards your husband. My husband and I have been married 42 years in September. We were twenty when we married. We started dating at sixteen. He is everything to me and our family. I feel blessed to have him in my life. He is a wonderful and loving husband, father, Grandfather, and friend. One of the most special things ever said about him is both of our daughters said that their dad created for them the definition of what a good husband is! They saw in our life how a marriage and family should be. Our son told his dad on the day he got married if he was even close to being like his dad as a husband he will be proud of himself. He makes me laugh (I think one of the best traits in marriage) and feel safe and I still feel so good when he walks through the door! That is not to say there aren’t those “days!” But I never once in the 46 years we have been together ever thought not being with him would be better. Like you, I hit the jackpot! Celebrate and enjoy–and I wish you many many more loving years together…

    1. Wow! What a wonderful man you married, Sandy!
He sounds amazing! You did hit the jackpot!
God bless you two for many more years as well.

  12. Congrats to you and Cy. It is a wonderful feeling being married to someone you respect and someone you can be proud of. We have been married almost 27 years and I am still thrilled to see him walk in the door each night. Congratulations again.

  13. Happy Anniversary! Love this blog …super sweet. The pic of your hubs & all your boys is priceless. We are parents of all boys …3 sons {twins & a spare}. The relationship between a dad & his boys is so special.

  14. Happy Anniversary!
I went back and read your love story…and I’m sitting her wiping tears from my eyes. What a special story! I LOVE the pennies and your gift to him. What a wonderful way to begin your engagement. I’ve been following you for quite a while and have enjoyed every minute of it! You have a wonderful husband and very handsome sons. You truly are blessed!
Congrats again to you all…Enjoy your weekend!

    1. Thank you so much for your sweet words, Sharlotte. I love the penny story too. I think it will be a fun one to tell our grandchildren someday. Lord willing.
Thank you for following my blog and for your encouraging comment.

  15. Congratulations and happy anniversary to you both! You’ve often posted stories about your husband that show what a good man he is (the casserole dish story is one I won’t ever forget). Every time you do, I’m so happy for you. Much love to you.

  16. Happy anniversary! God definitely blessed you with a great man! Your blog is always a blessing to read from the hard work you invest on your home to the the stories about how you do life with your family.

  17. Happy Anniversary Traci. Our 36th Anniversary was yesterday. Marriage is such a gift from God. May God bring you a good year ahead. May you grow in the Lord and be blessed!

  18. Hey…you forgot Reason Number 16…he’s dog gone cute! And so are you…I wish you many more blissful and blessed years… I am Dawn in the ATL!

  19. Wow Traci, your post is so heartfelt that I had tears in my eyes! It isn’t everyday that you hear someone talk so tenderly of her husband. Mostly, we hear the opposite. The mutual respect that comes through your posts is (what I think) the real basis for a great marriage. Have a wonderful 15th anniversary all week long!

  20. Congratulations and God bless both of you and your family! Happy Anniversary! Your hubby sounds like a great man. You are truly blessed! This was a wonderful tribute to him. I enjoy your blog so much.
    Blessings!

  21. Congratulations on 15 years! Your love story is such a great example, to young women like myself, of the wonderful things God does! Thank you for sharing!!

  22. Congratulations!! Reading your post and all the comments warmed my heart and brought tears to my eyes. The tears are two fold… 1- Gives me the hope for a better future and 2- Joy in the knowledge that I can and will make it..
Seeing you and others post that the first year or so is generally rocky and that so much of it is blessed… I cant say what it means. My husband and I will celebrate out 2nd anniversary on August 17th. We have both been married previously and have both battled some problems in our lives. Its been very rocky and I pray each day that today will be the day that things turn around. I have no doubt that God brought Jody and his son into my life. And I completely and fully trust in the promise of Jeremiah 29:11. And I hope that one day my marriage and my family can be as encouraging and uplifting as yours!! Thank you so much for sharing your family with us all.
