Kitchen Makeover {with wood beams}
One of the things I love about blogging is when I get emails from my readers telling me about transformations they are making in their own homes from inspiration they received on my blog.
I love that people read my blog and follow my crazy DIY life, but when someone tells me they tried one of my recipes, or painted a similar piece of furniture to mine, or made one of my crafts, it just blesses my socks off!
When I shared how we installed faux wood beams from AZ Faux Beams in our master bathroom, I got a message from a reader, Alix, on my blog facebook page asking me for some more information about them.
We exchanged several messages, and Alix told me they decided to buy some of the faux beams for her kitchen.
I told her to share some pictures with me after they installed the beams, and so I was thrilled when I received this email from Alix:

We finally finished out beam project and I wanted to share the before and after pics. We had white beams that our contractor had done for us, but we never liked them and they weren’t the best quality. So these were such a great option for us. I am so happy we saw them on your blog. We did stain them ourselves to get the darker finish and it was super easy. The installation also went well. We are super happy with the end result.
Take care!

Well, my jaw hit the floor when I saw Alix’s beautiful kitchen. It looked gorgeous in the before picture…
Before…
But WOW! Check out the difference those faux wood beams made in the “after” picture…
After…
Swoon.
Alix, your kitchen is absolutely gorgeous! I love the way you stained your beams to match your floors. And your open shelves are so beautiful.
Thank you for sharing this with me!

Wow is right! That kitchen was already jaw dropping, but those beams just took it to a whole new level. Beautiful!
Wow – that is a great transformation. We are in the midst of a big renovation project and had 200 year old barn beams installed as collar ties last week and it almost drive my contractor to fits they were so heavy! Next time we’ll look at the AZ Faux Beams offering – I’ll bet they will do the trick without breaking the contractor’s back! Love having that option – thanks for sharing!
The new beams really did make a huge difference! Made the beautiful floor more noticeable. Isn’t it funny how those things happen? Alix, your kitchen is gorgeous!
Traci, these are wonderful! The transformation is amazing! The beams just took this kitchen from amazing to stunning!
Amazing. it took it from cavernous to cozy. It was lovely before, but a bit stark and cold. The beams warmed it right up.Wish I had another house to try that in. My parents had reall beams in their FR and I always loved the look. CTD
WOWZA, these are gorgeous! We have always wanted beams in the family room but I really love them in her kitchen. I love how it makes those gorgeous floors pop even more. Hope you are well.

Gee, your beams look so nice. And I have beams in my family room that I despise. They are rough sawn and almost impossible to keep swept of cobwebs. Maybe the popcorn ceiling makes me hate them so much………………….
I love how the wood beams look in Alix’s kitchen. They really do add so much! I’ll have to remember this if I ever buy a house someday:)
Beautiful!! Love the contrast they give to that bright white — gorgeous!

It really “grounded” that beautiful kitchen. Double Swoon to the second power….
