Quick Pics of my Ballard Designs Chandy and My Den

Hey Friends!

I hope you had a great weekend!

I told you last week that I got a new chandelier from Ballard Designs during my trip to their headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia last month.  Well, I wanted to share it with you.

Keep in mind that I do not have all my bedding for my bed yet, but I did add a poinsettia wreath above the bed to make it feel Christmas-ey in our bedroom.

I love the chandy!  It fits perfectly in this space, and goes well with the “look” I am after.

As you can see, our bed is Champ’s favorite place to nap during the day. Smile

Since I haven’t given an update of our den in a long time, I just wanted to show you what it looked like for Christmas.  {Even though I know you are probably tired of looking at Christmas stuff like I am.}

There really isn’t any rhyme or reason to the den right now, but it feels so cozy.  I really didn’t get to decorate until after Christmas because I was so sick.  But I was glad to have it in order when my in laws came up.  I’ll be sharing some pictures of that visit with you in my next post.

Our den is just a hodge podge of furniture right now, but I have to say that our house is really starting to feel like a “home” since we moved here a year and a half ago.  Whew!  We are hoping to get a bigger tv someday, so we can move that tv and armoire into our master bedroom.

I would love to get a new, white slipcovered couch and chair this year for this space.  We’ll see…

At least I am finally getting to the fun part of decorating my home.  Smile

I have a few little things to finish on our guest bathroom and then I can share it with you.  I love the way it turned out.

That’s all for now!  I hope you have a blessed day!!!

  1. Love the pops of red! Especially that wreath in the bedroom. And what I wouldn’t give to have a beautiful chandelier like that somewhere in my house! I’m too partial to bedroom fans, though, to give one up in lieu of a chandy :) But I wouldn’t mind a pretty chandelier above our dining room table. And may I just say that Champ is super adorable?? He’s seriously too cute for words.

  2. I love the red chair in the family room so don’t be too quick to change to a white slipcover. I have a reddish orange fireplace in my family room that was fine in 1978, but truly outdated. I like what you did to your fireplace. I keep thinking something with tile and wood for ours to cover the brick, but haven’t put the time into it yet. Love all you have done in your house!

  3. Sounds like you are having fun decorating your Home! I dread all the fix-up work, but love the decorating part of it. Your doing a great job!

  4. Tracy,
I love the pops of red too. I wanted to give you my two cents worth concerning your visions of white slip covered furniture in your den. I thought I wanted to that too, but I have four kiddos just like you and I was concerned about keeping them clean. I started off small and made a white slipcover for our large ottomon in our den that the kids lay on, bounce on, and lay on all of the time. Thank God I can take it off and bleach it on a regular basis because girl that thing gets dirty. I am also constantly having to straighten it up because it moves around so much. If you are at all a little “OCD” like me, then you do not want to have slipcovers on any of your furniture especially white ones. Just saying…. In the end, just do what makes you happy, because “if mama ain’t happy, then nobody is happy.” :)

  5. Everything looks beautifula dn cozy and I’m giving another thumbs up to the red love seat. I’ve made tight-fitting slipcovers and haven’t had any problems with them shifting, but they do get dirty. However, I feel that dirt is there anyway, but at least with slips i can get it clean again. That said, i like your couch as well and I’m sure you could make covers for it.
The chandy really suits you bedroom.
I’m happy you went through the effort to decorate for Xmas even if it was after the first day of Xmas. I celebrate all twelve days ’cause it ain’t over ’til the Wise Men sing! Three Kings day is widely celebrated in other parts of the world and I think it helps take the pressure off celebrating a single day and reminds us more of the event rather than a shopping blitz. 7. I think that even if you turned your furniture upside down you could make it work. I love to see all of the things that you do. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for posting about Ballard Designs, I had never heard of the company before your post and tonight I ordered 2 accent tables off their site. They were exactly what I was looking for, so thank you.

  12. I love it! (and I LOVE your walls in your bedroom) Gorgeous! I sooo want to put a chandelier in our master but the hubby really loves the fan. I only let him run it during the summer anyway so I don’t know what the big deal is with removing it!! ;)

  13. Traci,
Please overlook the previous comment….grins….i’m very challenged when it comes to techie stuff. I would have deleted it if i knew how. It posted before I got my comment typed. Okay, I’ll try again.

    Winter Blessings to you!
Sorry that you have been ill and hope that the rest of the Winter is better for you.
Your place is coming together. Nice to see your progress.

  14. Back over the summer I passed up a red chair just like that one at a yard sale for $20. I kick myself daily for not buying it!! Did you get it? :D (hee hee) Everything looks lovely.
