Something I forgot to Share!

Hey friends!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Yesterday, when I posted my favorite pins from Pinterest this past week, I totally forgot to share with you my favorite one.

This is the one that exemplifies what I have experienced the past few weeks.

Never stop doing little things for others.

Over the past few weeks, in light of the scary health news I received, I have had so many people do so many “little” things for me that my heart has been full to overflowing.

When I saw this pin, I knew I had to share it with you.

It reminded me of how much the “little things” meant to me when Mom was sick.

It caused me to write two of my favorite posts that I have ever written since I started blogging…

It Matters {part 1}

It Matters {part 2}

When Mom was sick, I was reminded again and again how it is the little things in this life that matter most.

And over the past few weeks, I have been reminded of this once again.

It is the prayers that we pray for each other, the hugs we give, the letters of encouragement, the texts, the phone calls, the food we make, the flowers we send… all of those little things matter MUCH.

And they occupy the biggest parts of our hearts.

So here is my challenge to you and to me this week…

What little thing could we do for someone else this week?

Let’s go do it!  Bless, and be blessed! Smile

  1. I remember many years ago telling the Lord, whomever he put on my heart each day, I would try to pray for them, or in someway send a note, phone call or now e-mail. We never know if that encourages someone else, as God is the ultimate encourager. So today I send a note to say you are loved, as well as a blessing to me, for that i thank you!

  2. I think in this rushed world in which we live, we forget to do this or are scared to because it might not be received well. Especially by strangers. Whenever I feel God leading me to be kind to or help someone I have to face my in personal fears and trust Him. It is little things to us but it can be huge to the other person. It’s funny but I always end up being blessed as well. Thanks for the reminder to be on the lookout.

  3. Beautiful post, Traci. Even in your time of healing, you continue to be a blessing to others, offering your expertise and encouragement. Thank you :0)

  4. Traci – Why did I happen to click on this email tonight? I haven’t had much time to read blogs lately and I can’t tell you how much this post and your “It Matters” posts have touched me just now. Thank you for sharing! By forgetting to include this in your original post, your second post was at the top of my email list, right where I needed to see it. Funny how things work out that way. I don’t think it is accidental. Your message is my “God sighting” for today! Your message has encouraged me to be better about this and take action every day to help others feel the love of Christ, even if it doesn’t feel like it is “enough” to make a difference. Thank you!

  5. I too feel this post is one of your most inspirational. I had not followed blogs back in 2010 so I read your two inspirational writings influenced by the Christian example of your precious Mom. I pinned them as a reminder that God will use me doing big things but its the little things He is still able to use me, as I trust Him in my very unusual brain damaged world.
I feel so delighted that God’s witness is spread through brave women willing to write and share remodeling projects and their faith. I oft times am amazed how awesome you women are being used by God as you write to the unknown, spreading paint and your passion for The Lord.
Oh we never ever think you idolize your mom. It’s so clear as you write about her, spiritual glow comes off the page. Praise God that you are sharing to others how important it is to give to others as the Holy Spirits still small voice leads…for this is how we please Jesus through our cups of water, our helping others in His name. Praise God and may You Lord pour out upon this Christ follower’s life… and ministry through her design talents and gift of
    writing. In Jesus name Amen

    1. Gwen,
YES! God still uses you! You have blessed me with YOUR words so many times! Your words are so eloquent and full of love. I loved it when you said, “you women are being used by God as you write to the unknown, spreading paint and your passion for the Lord.”
      Amen, Gwen!

      You are the best, sweetie!!!
      xoxo

  6. A lovely reminder, Traci… I know of lots of folks in need of “little things” this week. Time to get busy! So happy you’re on the mend… continued prayers for good health. :)

  7. Challenge accepted! This week I am definitely volunteering. Also sending out lots of healing prayers to you. Also, I am your newest Twitter follower @scggirl.

  8. God is making such a difference, through you, in my life. Your blog is such a blessing to me and I’m sure I’m not the only one. I really needed this challenge in my life at this time…so “thank you” !! I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your insightful words, the comings and goings of your beautiful family and your great style. On really busy days when I only have time to “delete” all my blog emails, yours is th only one I save. I wait till the craziness of my day is over and then it’s time for Beneath My Heart. Your wonderful mom seems so much like mine, I think they would have been great friends! Thank you and I pray for your continued recovery.

    1. Aw, Zoe! Thank you for your sweet comment! That made my day! I consider it a HUGE honor that you save my blog emails.
So great to hear that you are blessed with such a wonderful mother too. :)
      God is so good.

      Have a blessed day!
      Traci

  9. Hi! This is my first time viewing your blog. I liked it so much I saved this one also! It makes me think of something my DEAR 91 year old WWII vet -farmer -school bus driver-Christian-loves my Mother Cancer Survivor by God’s grace and prayers of many Daddy- He’s told me before: “Its the little things”. (we do for others that touches them, more than we realize sometimes.) Thank you for sharing. Funny how we can feel almost like we know someone we’ve just “met thru the net”. :D

  10. I did not see your original pins since I am new to your blog, but just wanted you to know how happy I am that “things” are turning out well for you. Reading about your precious mom and about how you responded to your own “unexpected news” was inspiring to me. I pray that I will show the same grace and faith when/if I am confronted with my own version of the unexpected. May God continue to richly bless you and your family.
