I’ve got my passport! Guess where I’m going!

Hey Friends!

I am so thrilled to tell you about a trip I will be taking next month.  It’s a trip that required me to get a passport.  I’ve never had a passport in my life, which means I have never been out of the country.

Well, I’ve been to Hawaii, which to me seems out of the country! Smile

From June 18-22, I will be traveling with Compassion Bloggers to Nicaragua!

Nicaragua 2013

I was beyond thrilled and humbled when Shaun Groves asked me to join the team that is traveling to Nicaragua on behalf of Compassion International.

I am a HUGE FAN of Compassion International and the authentic way in which they share the love of Jesus with children all over the world.

This trip will be life changing for me.  I just know it.  It’s one of the main reasons I wanted to go.  I want the Lord to work in my heart and help me gain perspective of what really matters in this life.

I know that Compassion changes the lives of children all over the world, but I know my heart will never be the same as well.

I’m so excited to see how God is providing for children and their families through Compassion.  And I cannot wait to share my journey with you on my blog.

Here are the rest of the team that I will be traveling with…

Of ALL the opportunities that this blog has afforded me, this one means the most to me by far.  Sharing the love of Jesus with others is more important than anything else I have ever shared on this blog.

I am so very, very grateful to God for this opportunity.

I covet your prayers as I prepare for this trip.

  1. Congrats!!!! What an offer, what a trip and such a blessing! And I know you have been blessed to be a blessing too! Compassion is such an amazing ministry and we have worked with them on their clean water project as well as other ministry projects they do. I can’t wait to hear more about your preparation emotionally, physically and spiritually for this trip!!!

  2. So happy for you Traci… your heart is full of compassion already so I know it will be touched in an even deeper way on this trip! I’ll be praying for you! We’ve been to Mexico and have seen poverty and children living in very hard conditions… it def. does change your outlook on what really matters! Have a super day :) xoxo

  3. So excited for you. We’ve been sponsoring a boy in Nicaragua for 8 years now. It’s been an amazing experience watching Danny grow through his photos and letters. It’s a blessing knowing that such a small amount of money can go so far and change someone’s life.

  4. I just presented Compassion to our church a couple of Sundays ago. We love the organization and it has been a huge blessing to our family. We sponsor two children- Padmani is from India and Jose is from Mexico. Looking forward to your posts!

  5. I look forward to praying for and following your trip! We support Christian, a precious boy from Ecuador! We love receiving his letters and drawings and are honored to pray for him daily. An added blessing when we chose him was to discover that he and my son share a birthday! Christian is two years younger, but it made it all extra special! I was a church planting missionary in Japan for 13 years and although Japan does not sturggle with poverty issues, my time there did change my life and my worldview. I know the Lord will bring you many blessings from this trip!

    1. God bless you!
We support a little boy from Equador too, Jostin! It is such a blessing to be a part of his life. My boys call him their “brother in Equador.”

      Thank you for your prayers.

  6. You will love it. I had the opportunity to go there in a missions trip last June. It was an eye/heart opening trip that’s for sure. Be prepared for your emotions to get a little wacky. When I got home and walked into my house, I started bawling! My girls thought I had lost it. I just kept seeing the sweet people there that we were with and how little they have and it just got to me. Hard to explain, but you’ll understand once you go. My husband and a group from our church are actually going back June 1st. Exciting! Can’t wait to hear about your trip!

  7. Soooooo exciting Traci!!! What a huge blessing for you!! We sponsor a boy named “Happy”. He lives in Swaziland, Africa. I will keep you in my prayers. Can’t wait to hear how God works in your life through this experience :). Awesome!!!

  8. That is so awesome Traci!! I would love to travel with Compassion Bloggers some day. I have done Mission Trips to Haiti & Spain over the years but it’s been a long time! And we sponsor a little girl in Malawi through a different organization. It has been such a blessing.
Cannot wait to hear about your trip!

  11. Oh friend -you know as I saw all you sweet girls being added to the list I was dying!! What an amazing group and honestly, I am friends with every single one of you and just know you will have an amazing time experiencing this life changing week together.

I told Shawn, I am almost tempted to pay my way and go with you all, it will be that special.

It’s exhausting, heart wrenching, eye opening and life giving. So thrilled you will be with them. :) xoxox

    1. Oh Jen! I cannot wait. I only know Edie, so I am so excited to meet the other ladies. I feel so blessed to be going on this trip, and I cannot wait to see what God has in store.
      xoxo

  12. Compassion International is a wonderful organization. I’ve been sponsoring children through them for over 20 years. The current girl I sponsor (whose difficult name escapes me right now) is from Ethiopia. Congratulations and I’m sure this will be a huge blessing not only to the children, but to you as well!

  15. This will be sooooo much more than a trip! As you reach your loving hands towards needy hearts and broken lives, may His love be what they feel. And they will. Thank you for sharing…

  16. Just stopping by to let you know that I am praying for you and all of the team members for this trip. As a Compassion Advocate and Sponsor, I love reading the blog posts of those of you who have the opportunity to go on these trip. I, too, recently got my first passport!
