One Thing Remains

Happy Sunday, friends!

The boys are still in bed, and it is nice and quiet in the house right now. Smile

Pretty soon, the boys will be up and the house will be filled with activity and noise.  It will be time to get up and get ready to go to church.

I am so grateful for our church fellowship.  It’s not a perfect church.  {There’s no such thing, ya know.} But it is filled with sweet people trying their best to love and serve God.

I am always blessed by worshiping with them.

This past week, Jonathan’s school had their monthly club day.  Jonathan and Luke attend FCA {Fellowship of Christian Athletes.} and Jonathan led the music along with some of his friends.

He has been practicing a song all week, and he had Luke video him so he could upload it to his youtube channel.

I wanted to share it with you. The words to the song are below the video.

May you be encouraged today knowing that God’s love for YOU is constant and that nothing can separate you from His love in Christ Jesus!

Romans 8:38-39 (New International Version)

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

“One Thing Remains”

Higher than the mountains that I face

Stronger than the power of the grave

Constant through the trial and the change

One thing… Remains [repeat]

[Chorus:] Your love never fails, never gives up Never runs out on me [3x]

On and on and on and on it goes

It overwhelms and satisfies my soul

And I never, ever, have to be afraid

One thing remains

[Bridge:] In death, In life, I’m confident and covered by the power of Your great love

My debt is paid, there’s nothing that can separate my heart from Your great love…

  1. Good Job Jonathan! You have a great talent! I love that song. We’ve sung that in our church as well. Traci and Cy – What a wonderful job you both are doing raising your sons to love the Lord. May your family be abundantly blessed!

  2. Traci — please check your project gallery. I attempted to look at all of them and the images are all broken and the links don’t work.

Let me know when you get it fixed — I’d love to check out your projects.

  3. I think everytime he lifts up his christian music it is because of your mother breathing through him. A gift from God.

  4. Wow Traci, your Jonathan has such a gift!!! How old is he. He has the gift of music!! So expressive and personal! Thank you for sharing…don’t think I have ever heard that piece done better. We mothers of boys are so proud aren’t we? Love and enjoy while they are young….they leave home much too soon! Blessings, Linda

  5. I love all of your posts, but Jonathan posts are my absolute favorite. He is really developing his vocal abilities and he has such a unique sound. I can’t wait to buy his first song! He never fails to touch my spirit.

  6. Wow! I just found your blog and am in LOVE. You must be soooo proud of your beautiful boy! He brought tears to my eyes. I would love for my children to learn guitar or sing. That was wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing!!!

  7. I am always encouraged to read blogs written by Christian women. I just found your blog through Pinterest, and was looking back on your previous post, when I seen the video of your son singing and playing gutair. I don’t know how old he is, but it is ice to see youn people serving The Lord. He is very talented.

  8. One just never knows how what we put out into the world may affect another. I am sitting in my bed, little cute tree lit up, candles around me filling the air with smell good and Christmas music playing in the background . I am working hard to not get down as it is day 3 of a flu bug. It’s an already difficult time of the year for me since the loss of my husband a little over a year ago. So in an effort to distract myself it occurs to me to check out the blogs, yours is one that I have never followed but I found I LOVE your style so I decided to sit down and read post after post as if it were a book (no hot chocolate for me today, only clear liquids :)). I get to this post with your son singing, one of my favorite songs and I am reminded nothing will stop his love, despite it all I am loved and as I take each step I have to remember that! Thank God for this reminder and thank your son for sharing his voice! I think I know the pride you feel when he sings, my daughter sings as well and plays the guitar and leads worship for her small group. I joke I have a soundtrack to my life as she is always singing in the background. :) Thank you Traci, Merry Christmas, blessings to your family!
