Beneath My Heart’s Christmas Home Tour {Part Two}
Happy Friday, friends!
And welcome to Day Two of my Christmas Home Tour!
Today, I am joining another wonderful tour hosted by Lindsay from The White Buffalo Styling Co.
You may be stopping by from Perfectly Imperfect. Wasn’t Shaunna’s home gorgeous?! I love that girl! Everything she does is beautiful.
Yesterday, I shared Part One of my Christmas Home Tour. If you missed it, you can see it HERE.
For Part Two of my Christmas Home Tour, I would like to share my Christmas tablescape.
Every year on Christmas morning, I try to have our kitchen table decorate for our Christmas breakfast. It’s just me and my boys for breakfast, so it isn’t anything fancy. But I do like to decorate the table to make a simple meal feel more festive.
This year, I was so excited to set a tablescape on my new galvanized table. You can see how I made this table HERE.
I love decorating with natural elements, so I bought some wood slices from Michael’s {with my 40% coupons} and painted them with chalkboard paint to make some chargers for my table.
Then I used a piece of chalk to write some words on each charger that remind me of Christmas.
I bought a roll of burlap from Hobby Lobby {again, with a 40% off coupon} and placed three strips of it across my table.
For the table runner, I got a red and white striped scarf from Walmart for about 6 bucks and cut it in half. Then I laid it down the middle of my table on top of the burlap strips.
I love the color RED. Especially at Christmastime. It’s just not Christmas without red, to me.
Then I stained a small piece of wood from Lowe’s with Annie Sloan Dark Wax and placed it on top of the scarf/table runner. Add a bunch of white candles, and Voila! Easy Peasy!
I placed a pine cone and fresh greenery in my small red bowls.
And tied my silverware up in a white napkin with a red bow.
Then a red striped straw does the trick!
See my green table in the background? That’s our Hot Chocolate Bar. My boys are so excited that I finally got it set up!
We did this for the first time last year and instantly decided that it need to become a tradition. I usually just add some marshmallows and candy canes to stir the hot chocolate with.
It is so much fun to make a cup of hot chocolate while watching a good movie or when coming inside from playing in the snow.
As much as I love decorating my home for Christmas, this is what I love most….
Sweet Eli, still wet-headed from bath time, chowing down on a Happy Meal on our Christmas tablescape!
Isn’t it true that no matter how pretty our Christmas decorations may
be, it is really the people we share them
with that make them so special?!
I am wishing you and yours a Very Merry Christmas!
If you are on the tour, your next stop is to Jen from The Chronicles of Home.
Have fun on the tour!
Oh Traci, your home is beautiful! Love your decorating style and your clever ways you use natural elements. So warm and cozy. Merry Christmas!
So gorgeous. I love the color combo of turquoise and red. You just don’t see that much! And it looks stunning together in your beautiful home.
I totally agree that it is the people who you share your home with that make it special and I love it when I see my kids faces when they look at the Christmas decorations.
Beautiful! I just found you. Wow, your home is heavenly. Love this table scape. Clever idea painting the wood pieces with chalkboard paint. Headed to Michaels this morning. I am a vendor for Michaels and I see the wood rounds almost everyday. Now, I totally have to have them.

Hi
Wondering what size wooden charges you purchased? I noticed they sell three sizes. Thanks!!
Oh gosh! I got those last year, so I don’t remember. But I just got them big enough to put a dinner plate on.
