Keep Good Going

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of New York Life for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Growing up, there was one thing that I never, EVER doubted, and that was that my parents believed in me and supported me.  They were my biggest fans in every thing I did.

They were at every game and event that I was in, and they celebrated with me when I succeeded and cried with me when I failed.

That’s why I love this story of parents’ never-ending dedication toward their daughter, and how they go the extra mile to help perpetuate and empower her to follow her passion.

Check out this cute, short video.

My All-Star Daughter

Mom gave me my “carpe diem” attitude.  She was always teaching me to “seize the day.”

Whenever I was faced with an important challenge or decision, she would always encourage me to go for it.  No regrets.  If it didn’t work out, it just didn’t work out.  No biggie.

But if it did….WOW!  What a celebration!!

Mom was still encouraging me to dream big and seize the day even in her last days on earth.  I was new to blogging during that time.  She knew how much I loved it, and she encourage me over and over to stick with it.  “I believe this blog is going to be a good thing for you, Traci,”  she said.

Little did she know.  Smile

Five years later, my blog has blessed me beyond measure and has become a huge part of my life and my family’s life.

Thank you, Mom.

I hope and pray that I am instilling in my boys that same “carpe diem” attitude.  I want them to go for their dreams.  The sky is the limit!  Cy and I try to do everything we can to support them in their dreams.

It’s not always easy with four boys, though.  They all have different interests.

Jonathan is our aspiring entertainer.

I think it is so cute how they all have their own dreams and talents.  For Cy and I, that means lots of late nights at the ball parks, lots of miles to competitions and games, and lots of waiting in the car during lessons.and practices.

But we love watching our children seize the day!

These are the stepping stones to much greater things in their lives.

We all have the chance to empower others to reach their highest potential.

I would love to hear who encouraged you to reach your dreams, ,or who you may be encouraging right now in your life.

  1. My mom was my biggest encourager and fan throughout my earlier years and into adulthood. She faithfully prayed for me, and for my family everyday until she went to be with the Lord last year at the age of 91. I miss her her every day. (I won your flower gift card tribute give away for her.). Someone told me that a mom’s prayers go on forever. I am counting on it! Along with my trust in The Lord, memories of mom, her testimony of faith and encouraging words keep me going. And as much as I miss her, I can imagine the time she is having in Heaven! Thank you for sharing your family through your blog. It would be fun to hear more of Eli, Luke and Adam in your stories and to get to know them better as well. Such a sweet and precious family. :-) Blessings to you!

  2. You are such an inspiration to me. Even though my kids are all grown, and financially we weren’t always able to let them go for their dream at the time I hope they still know that I am their biggest cheerleader. My daughter was in the navy and now has become the mother to my three(soon to be four) grandchildren. My oldest son is serving in the navy as we speak and my youngest is inspiring to do his own inspirational clothing line! Go check out MountainMoversCo.com! I’ve never regretted staying home with my kids even if we went without a second car, vacations or other extras. I feel like their growing up years went by in warp speed!

  3. My dad was my biggest cheerleader. I wasn’t good at sports like all of my friends so when I had an academic meet, he would come to support me. I was usually the only person with a “fan”! When I was in college and all of my friends had boyfriends and it was obvious that I was bummed, he would tell me that I deserved only the best and that it would happen. He was right. In July I will celebrate 12 years with my wonderful husband. I lost my dad over 2 years ago very much out of the blue and didn’t get to say goodbye. But every time I think I can’t do something I think of him and how he pushed me in the right direction.

  4. So great to see their differences :) how old are your boys? I saw your comments about a 12 and a 7 yr old. Mine will be 13, 11, 9 and 7 this year. Looks like they are all around the same age!
