Tool Shed Makeover {#3M DIY}

Do you remember the exterior makeover I did on my shed last year with 3M DIY?

shed makeoverI LOVED that project.  That shed was such an eye sore on our property and now it is so pretty to look at.

But the interior was still a mess!

So I was so glad to work with 3M DIY again to give the inside of my shed a little makeover.

I have big plans for the interior, but I am working on just one wall at a time right now.

There are three main walls in my shed, and I am going to use one for my yard tools, one for my work tools, and one for the boys sports equipment.

I decided to make the first wall you see on the left my “yard tool wall.”

Materials I used:

Scotch® Extreme Mounting Tape

PVC Pipe

Scotch™ Garage Organizer

Scotch™ Secure Strap

Scotch™ Indoor  Fasteners

To create my yard tool holders, I used some PVC pipe and some Scotch® Extreme Mounting Tape.

I cut some PVC pipe in about 4 inch pieces with my chop saw. DSC_0273 The saw threw bits of plastic all over the place when I cut it, even in my hair, so I made sure I had my 3M safety product {safety glasses} on.

I’ve used many different safety glasses since I started blogging, and I have to admit that these are my favorite.  They are very heavy duty and comfortable on my nose!

To make my yard tool holder, I attached  two 1×6 pieces of wood to the studs in the shed with my screw driver and long screws.

I laid my tools out to see how far I wanted them to be apart.

Then I applied some of the 3M mounting tape to the backs of the PVC pieces…

Next, I removed the red piece of liner off of the mounting tape and attached them to the wood.

Those babies were stuck on there good!  Smile  I tried to immediately pull the PVC pipe off the wood to test the strength, and I couldn’t do it.  Yay!

Next, I added a small piece of 1×6 wood to the top of the wall and attached a Scotch™ Garage Organizer to it.2014-04-10 17.06.40

The Scotch™ Garage Organizer holds up to 20 pounds, so I used it to hold our water hose.

It was simple to wrap the fastener strap around my hose to hold it in place.  I love that it is up high and out of the way.

I used the two Scotch™ Secure Straps to hold our lawn and leaf bags.  All I had to do was wrap the straps around the back of the 1×6 and then around the garbage bag box, and secure it with the fasteners.

We go through a lot of garbage bags in the summer, and it will be easy to replace the old boxes with a new box by using these secure straps.

I bought a new pair of clippers and decided to use my Scotch™ Indoor Fasteners to attach them to the wood.

2014-04-10 17.06.51

I put the soft part of the fastener on my clippers so it wouldn’t bother my fingers when I used it.

2014-04-10 17.33.15

Then I put the other part of the fastener on the wood and attached my clippers.

Perfect!

2014-04-10 17.34.49

I used some of my Scotch® Extreme Mounting Tape on the back of a small basket that I had in storage.

2014-04-10 17.44.38

I attached it to the wood and put my gardening gloves and trimmer string.

2014-04-10 17.52.06

I love how organized I am getting in my shed!

2014-04-10 17.50.13

Now I am excited about tackling the other two walls in my shed!
