Coffee Table Makeover
Hey friends!
I wanted to share with you a quick coffee table makeover that I recently completed.
I actually bought this coffee table at the Habitat ReStore last fall for $65.
It was a very solid, well made piece of furniture, and although I didn’t like the orangey color, I knew I could make it into something I loved.
When I saw all of the drawers on the sides of the table, I knew they would look great with library card pulls on the fronts.
Now, if I were a blogger extraordinaire, I would have a very detailed tutorial of this makeover.
However, I do not.
Sometimes life just doesn’t allow for detailed tutorials, you know what I mean?
But here is basically what I did.
1. Sanded it with a sanding sponge.
2. Painted it white.
3. Sealed it with wipe-on poly.
Once I finished painting it, I added some pulls from D. Lawless Hardware.
These pulls are only . 53 cents a piece. You can find them HERE. They come in different sizes and colors too.
The pulls do not come with screws, so I found the perfect size at Lowe’s. You can see them in the picture above. I took a picture of the package in case you need the same size.
The last step was to attach the pulls to the drawer fronts, and voila!
I love my new coffee table!!!
It’s just my style, and it is perfect for this space.
I think I will have fun decorating my coffee table for each of the seasons.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a blessed day!!

How creative! I love your makeover!
Traci it’s awesome!
What a transformation and the pulls are darling.
I love the new look! The hardware is perfect!
Wow, I love what you did. My puppies recently chewed the corners on my coffee table, so I could just sand, paint and seal!! Thank you for your tips, Di@Cottage-Wishes
Love the hardware! I’ve been looking for pulls like that and can’t believe they’re that cheap! I don’t even have a piece of furniture that I currently need them for, but I’m off to buy some! Great makeover!
I love the style of the table, and it looks so fresh and on-trend in the white. You didn’t mention primer. Did you use chalk paint?
Love it! I love library pulls and they look perfect.
Love, Love, Love!
Love what you did with the table, Traci. I have a 40 yo coffee table in the basement. It’s solid maple with a formica top & wooden edge. I’ve kept it because of the little teeth marks made by my last two children when they were teething. I wonder how it would look with the formica top showing the darker wood underneath.
It’s gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing
Love this! Love the pulls, too!
It looks amazing and I love the hardware! Great job!

Absolutely! Thanks for the compliment. :)
Your table was a steal at $65 and now it looks like a million bucks. It looks fabulous in your room!
Thanks, Jill! :)
Thanks for the hardware link. Great price! Looks great!
You are welcome. It is a GREAT deal!
One of your best finds ever Traci!
Thanks, Carol!!
I liked it brown, but your white version looks awesome in your living room. Wish I had space for a piece like that.
Thank you, Susan!
Wonderful makeover. I really like the hardware you chose. The screws looked a little long to me. Do they poke out the backside of the drawer fronts?
Hi LoriBeth!
No, they don’t poke through. The drawer fronts are really thick on this piece. Thanks for stopping by!
Wow! When you said it was solid, you weren’t kidding! That piece must weigh a ton!! LOL
It’s pure perfection! Love Love Love it!!
What an amazing transformation, Traci. And those pulls were a steal! Thanks for sharing.
That is an amazing transformation, Traci! Those library pulls really make it stand out.
AWESOME-SAUCE!!!! I want one! I have a question (I hope you don’t mind)… did you use oil-based paint? The only poly I have ever found is oil-based and then when applied to a water-based paint that is a light or white color, it turns yellow. I struggle using oil-based paint, so I always go to the water-based instead. I would love to know what you use if you don’t mind sharing. Thanks.
Simply jealous. AND Awesome!
Beautiful transformation, Traci! I know all that molding that make up the drawer fronts was a challenge to paint, but well worth it! Love the choice of hardware too :)
It might seem scary to try on your dress before your wedding day since it’s believed to bring
bad luck. Do a comprehensive research by reading a lot of product reviews.
However, you may also find that this particular
photographer has acceptable photographs, and nothing more.
Score! What a fabulous find and a fantastic makeover! I especially love the library pulls.
Love it!!
