Golden Tote Review

So most of you know that my sister is a fashion blogger.  Fashion and makeup are her “thang.”

Nail guns and paint are my “thang.”  :)

We are a lot alike, and yet sooooooo different.  Take for instance our emergency preparedness for Snow-Mageddon 2015 here in Kentucky…

Do you seen what my sister (cyndispivey) got at the grocery store?  Peas.   Really?

Anyway, back to fashion.  :)

I love to dress up.  I just don’t like going shopping for clothes.  I wish someone else could do that for me.

So when I was contacted by Golden Tote to do a review, I jumped on it!

What is a Golden Tote?

Golden Tote is a fun way to shop! It’s the ultimate “Surprise Grab Bag” filled with clothing and accessories for women.

Golden Tote works with carefully selected fashion brands. They curate an eclectic assortment of treasures and package them all up in a custom tote bag for one amazing price.

Think of them as your personal shoppers, stylists, and designers that are scoring you some major fashion finds for an incredible price.

Here’s how it works:

The first Monday of each month they launch TWO sales. One priced at $49, the other at $149. You can log in to your account pick one item (the $49 tote) or two items (the $149 tote).

But, it doesn’t end there – after filling out a customized style profile about your likes, dislikes, shape, and size – they HAND PICK 1-2 or 3-5 more items to go in your tote that matches your preferences.

This is one of the items I “picked,” and it was definitely my favorite!  It is a gingham shirt dress, but I’m not showing you my winter-white legs. :)  This would be super cute with leggings, I just didn’t have any to wear for this picture.

I cannot wait to wear this in the spring with some cute white tennis shoes.  :)

The second item I picked was a long sleeve shirt.  It’s cute and comfortable, but not extremely flattering.

The rest of my tote was filled with items the stylist picked for me.  My favorite was this hot pink silk blouse.  I will get a lot of wear out of this!  It will be great for spring, but would look great now under a cardigan.

They also sent me this cozy navy blue sweater.  This is something I probably wouldn’t have picked for myself, but I think it would look great with a pair of white shorts or capris for spring.  It would also look good with coral pants.

Now this next piece was actually a dress, but it was not flattering from the waist down.   However, I loved the checked detail on the back.  The same checked detail was on the cuffed sleeves.  IF I loose a few pounds before spring, I might be able to wear this dress, otherwise, I might have to pass it along.

The last item I got was a white shirt with a detail down the middle and back of the shirt.  It was cute, but didn’t look good on me right now because I am so pale, and I didn’t really have anything to style it with for pictures.

With Golden Tote, if you like everything in your box, GREAT!  You can keep it all.  However, if you do not like a few items, you have to return the whole box, not just those items.  So you really have to decide if you will wear the items you got or not.

I liked most of my items, so I am going to keep them all.

There is a Golden Tote facebook group where you can trade your unwanted items with others’ unwanted items.

The items in my box are still available as a part of the February tote, but new items will be available in March.

Have a blessed day!!

**I was given a golden tote to write a review on my blog. All opinions are my own.

  1. Marion Parsons from Miss Mustard Seed blog just did a Golden Tote review and she picked the same 2 items you did but the items picked for her were waaaaaay different. Interesting to see how they interpret your style. I’m not crazy about the all or nothing policy.

  2. Those were some cute things, but I think I prefer to go to TJ Maxx etc and get a couple of things that look and fit GREAT. I’m all about fit, otherwise things just look cheap,(on me anyway).
I guess you guys have generators or weren’t worried about power outages or maybe (like me) you have gas appliances. I’m enjoying the slower pace of snow days. I laughed so hard at the difference in your eating habits!
