Jonathan’s Performances at the Pennington Festival

This past weekend, Jonathan, Luke and I headed down to Princeton, Kentucky for the Pennington Folk Music Festival.

He got a fresh new haircut for the occasion.  :)  (He had been trying to let his hair grow out, and it was driving this mama cra-zy!  He finally decided it needed to get cut, and I am so glad he did!)

Jonathan was invited to sing at the Pennington Festival with his talented friend, Lexy Tays.  He met Lexy over three years ago at the Kentucky Opry when he was 12, and she was 13.   I know I have a picture of them somewhere from 3 years ago, but the oldest one I could find was from over a year ago (from Lexy’s instagram account)…

It has been fun to watch these two sweet teens develop in their music talents!  Lexy is now 16 years old, Jonathan is 15 (soon to be 16 next month.)  Yikes!

We were thrilled when Lexy asked Jonathan to sing with her at the Pennington Festival.

Lexy was scheduled for a full set at the festival, and she asked Jonathan to sing two songs with her in that set.  Both songs are in the video below.  I wanted to share them with you!

AND, I can’t share any details with you but we got a phone call this week from the Senior Talent Producer from….
