Decorating Plans for Adam and Eli’s Room
First of all, thank you for all of the sweet comments on my last post about our girl. We are truly honored to share this journey with you, and we are so thankful for the many blessings God has given us through this blog. It may be a while before we have another update, but I will be sure to share it when we do. :)
Today, I wanted to give you an idea of the direction I was going in Adam and Eli’s room as far as decor is concerned.
My very favorite color pallet for boys has always been red and blue. I have stuck with that in almost every one of their rooms in all of our houses. It’s hard for me not to do the same thing in Adam and Eli’s room, so I am doing my best to branch out a little bit.
Here is a mood board that I created to show you where I am headed…
I actually found that exact word sign at Home Goods last week, and it was the spring board for the colors I wanted to use in their room.
The room will be mostly navy, tans, and browns, but I want to add pops of orange and green as well. I haven’t decided whether to find some old twin beds to paint, or just DIY our own yet.
Today, we are repairing the walls in the room from where we removed the bottom bunk. I will be doing a lot of mud-filling, sanding, and painting. The not-so-fun-stuff.
I’ll keep you posted on the progress!
If you have any fun “boy room” inspiration to share with me, I would love to see it!
This room will be so cute when finished. I really like your color scheme. One idea I have seen and always like in a boys room is a paddle, baseball bat, even a tree branch, for a curtain rod. Can’t wait to see the finished room.
Thank you, Linda! I love the idea you shared! I have seen similar ideas for curtain rods and always love it. Thank you for sharing. xoxo
I love the colors for the boys room! It’s going to look great and won’t need changing as they continue to grow up.
God definitely has things under control in regards to your little girl! She has been put into your lives for a reason.
Have a blessed day!
Thank you, Ginger! God bless you.
Love it all! Well b headin up for a sleep over when it’s all done! 👍🏼 We got that bean bag for Jake for Xmas! It’s THEE BEST BAG EVER!!!!
Sounds good! We miss you guys!
Do your boys want to help with “input” as to what they want or are they letting it totally up to you? I love the things that you have picked out because I covers a wide variety of interests. There are some really neat vintage places that you can find neat decorations at to carry out your theme. Have fun with it!
Not really. :) I usually decorate their rooms with them in mind, though. I know the type of things the boys like. They usually always like what I come up with.
These beds are cool! I love the light on them. http://www.thedecoratedroom.com/blog/2015/4/17/diy-platform-bed

So fun! We redid our son’s room as a surprise birthday present two years ago and it’s still one of my favorite rooms. This is the “reveal” post: http://rindymae.blogspot.com/2014/01/24-hour-bedroom-makeover-kids-new-room.html
I checked it out and loved it! Thank you for sharing it with me, Mindy! I know your son had to be thrilled! :)
