While Jonathan was on NBC’s The Voice, we received an email asking him to be the guest entertainer at an event called the Talk Walk Run in Indianapolis, Indiana.  It is an event to raise awareness and funds for Hoosier children with hearing loss.

Jonathan is super excited about representing and supporting the hearing impaired community during this event, but he didn’t just want to sing, he wanted to RUN in the event too!  So we all signed up as a family to support this wonderful community of people who serve to help children who are hearing impaired like Jonathan.  YES, I WILL BE RUNNING.  (or maybe walking. hee.hee.)  But Cy, Luke, Adam, and Eli will all be running too!  If you live in the area, we would love for you to run with us, or just come by to support the event and hear Joanthan sing! ;)

Hear Indiana welcomes The Voice contestant Jonathan Hutcherson to the 13th annual Talk Walk Run fundraiser. Hutcherson will perform the national anthem and other songs at the Talk Walk Run presented by PNC Bank on April 30, 2016

INDIANAPOLIS, April 20, 2016 – Hear Indiana is thrilled to announce that Jonathan Hutcherson, former contestant on The Voice, will perform at the annual Talk Walk Run to raise awareness and funds for Hoosier children with hearing loss. Presented by PNC Bank, N.A. the Talk Walk Run includes a 5K, 10K, Kids Run & Carnival. The event is Hear Indiana’s largest annual fundraiser and attracts over 1,000 attendees to Ft. Harrison State Park in Indianapolis.

Hutcherson, a 16 year-old from Wilmore, Kentucky, was diagnosed at age two and a half with moderate to severe hearing loss in both of his ears and has been wearing hearing aids ever since. In 2015, Hutcherson auditioned for Season 10 of NBC’s The Voice and earned the coveted “last chair” on Team Pharrell.

“Jonathan is proof that the possibilities are endless for deaf and hard of hearing children! What an inspiration he is to young children with hearing loss,” said Naomi Horton, Hear Indiana executive director. Hutcherson is set to perform the national anthem at 9am and additional songs at 12pm on April 30th.

We know how expensive it can be to provide and care for a child with a hearing loss, so any amount that you can give to support this cause will be greatly appreciated! :)
