From Texas to Tennessee with Jonathan!

Hey friends!

Oh my goodness, y’all!  I haven’t posted in over a week and a half!!  #biggulps

Last Tuesday, Jonathan and I flew to Texas for a 5 day trip.  He was singing and speaking at a school in Weatherford, Texas to a group of deaf and hard of hearing students and also performing some songs in front of the whole student body.

While we were there, I was planning on posting and working on my computer, but I forgot my charger, and my computer was dead for 4 out of the 5 days we were gone!  ugh.

We were at Weatherford on Wednesday, Austin on Thursday (visiting family,) and Waco on Friday!

I’ll share more about that trip in my next post. :)

We got home Saturday night, and I spent Sunday and Monday enjoying my family, doing laundry, and trying to get my house back in order.  (You know how it goes when mama is gone. haha.)

Then Tuesday of this week, Jonathan and I left again for Nashville for some important music stuff. :)

He had some great meetings with songwriters/producers/publishers yesterday and this morning, and we just got back home today!  It looks like we’re going to be going to Nashville a lot in the near future, and the possibilities are super exciting.   I’ll be sure to share it all with you!

Now back to our trip to Texas….

Every year, the Brazos River Regional Day School Program for the Deaf holds a speech contest for its students, and they always have a young adult with hearing impairment to speak to the students and parents in attendance.  This year, they wanted to have Jonathan as their special guest speaker.

Of course, it would cost a lot of money to fly Jonathan down to their school, so the Weatherford High School Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council helped to raise the funds for him to come.

Here is a facebook post by Kristal Bullock about this special group of students:

Jonathan and I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with these students throughout the day at school and in the evening at The Pizza Place.  These kids are a special group of young men and women.   I was so impressed with their fun personalities, their hard work ethic, and their hearts full of integrity.

Jonathan felt the same and truly hopes to return to hang out with them again one day soon.

I filmed Jonathan’s talk on my phone, and I wanted to share it with you.  I love to see his heart for other hearing impaired children and the encouragement he shares with them.

I know this video is a little long, but if you have the time, I think you will enjoy it.  Jonathan shares his heart for the Lord at the end as well.

Thanks, y’all!  I MISSED YOU!!!!

I hope you and yours are doing well!  xoxo, Traci

And please tell Jonathan that the verses he spoke that day, ministered to me on this day…they were exactly what I needed to hear and I was encouraged by them.

  3. Oh, this made my heart smile really BIG!!! What a fine young man and I’m just sure the Lord has great things in store for Jonathan. Do keep us posted!

  4. Traci…your heart must have been bursting with pure joy after listening to your beautiful son! What an inspiring talk to these young children…to let them know that anything and everything is possible in their lives and that the most important thing is that they have a good heart. I loved how very natural and second nature it is for Jonathan to talk about his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For Jonathan to live his life knowing that God loves him and has a plan that he will accept whatever that plan is, is an inspiration to young people. God is using Jonathan, through his music, and his love for his Heavenly Father, to inspire young people wherever he goes.
You and your husband have raised an exceptional young man! I look forward to seeing all he accomplishes in his life…thank you for sharing!
Blessings to you, Jonathan and your family ❤

  5. Thank you Traci! You guys are a huge blessing and I hope to continue the bond Jonathan made with our students.
