My Favorite Workout Gear

Hey friends!

Well, y’all know that I have started exercising more, which basically means I am living in workout clothes.   When the boys were toddlers, I would wear yoga pants literally EVERY. DAY.  (And not because I was exercising.).

Then a few years ago, I started trying to shower and get dressed first thing in the morning, like I was going to a job outside of the home, to make myself feel more “productive.”  (Yoga pants made me want to nap all day.  ha!)

The only problem with showering and getting dressed up in the morning is that I never wanted to workout and get sweaty during the day.  So I completely stopped working out.

So now I am going back to my “roots”…..I haven’t broke out my yoga pants, but I am definitely enjoying wearing comfortable workout clothes every day.

I thought I would share some of my favorite with you today!

I love Tek Gear at Kohls.  They are super comfortable and pretty affordable compared to others.

Women’s Tek Gear® Lattice Yoga Capris

Leggings come in a lot of fun colors and styles now!  I like the “lattice” look on the legs and “mesh” capris are super trendy right now too.   If you have to work out, you might as well look good, right?  ;)

When I work out, I don’t like to wear shirts that show my bootie.  I like to cover that thang up!  But when I look for large or extra large workout shirts at most stores, they are not long enough to cover my backside.

So I went to the “plus” section at Kolhs and found the shirts below in 1x, and I love them!  They are roomy, don’t stick to me when I am sweating, are super light-weight, and most importantly….cover my bottom.  win-win

When I do exercises at home, I like to use a yoga mat, but I just have a plain blue one from Walmart or somewhere.  If it wasn’t still in good shape, I would definitely buy a cute yoga mat like this one….

I also have hand weights like the ones below for when I need to do my exercises at home.

Now, let me talk about these shoes for a second.

Y’all, I have never really invested in a good pair of shoes.  I usually just get a pair of nike anywhere they are on sale, as long as I like the colors. :)

But my son, Luke, is a shoe fanatic and talks about the Adidas Ultraboost shoes ALL. THE. TIME.  He was begging me to get them when I was complaining about my plantars fasciitis a couple of months back.    My feet were hurting so bad that I broke down and bought them.  OH MY GOODNESS!!  It is like walking on marshmallows all day long.  It didn’t take my planters fasciitis away, but it made it less painful for me to walk, and I loved it!

I am totally SOLD on these shoes and plan on buying another pair soon.  If you need a good pair of shoes, y’all, you need to consider these!  #justsayin #thankyouLuke

Lastly, I wanted to share with you the bluetooth headphones I just got!  I like to listen to music when I am on the treadmill or lifting weights.  I think it is motivating and helps the time to go buy quicker.  But it is impossible to lift weights when you have earbuds with wires that are connected to your phone.  It’s almost comical.  :)

So I invested in these bluetooth headphones so I can sit my phone down anywhere in the gym and still listen to music while I work out.  They are also great for running.

Well, that’s about it.  I could probably share a few other things, but I will stop there. :)

  1. I have a friend who also suffered terribly from plantar fasciitis. She dealt with it for years, trying more shoes than I can count. She eventually tried the brand Newton. It’s the only one that worked. With Newton shoes and good stretching she was able to completely cure the plantar fasciitis. In case it might be helpful for you, I thought I would mention it. Great job on all your hard work!

  2. New Balance has some really good shoes for PF. Also use insoles to help with PF. Superfeet Green insoles really help.

  3. Thanks for the great tips on work out gear! I am always looking for cute items to wear to the gym!
