Laundry Room Butcher Block Cabinets
Hey, hey friends! It’s fun-day, Monday. (Not really. I’m just trying to cheer myself up a bit.) :)
The kiddos were supposed to be in school today, but it was cancelled because of the eclipse. I’m glad I get to experience the eclipse with the fam, but man, I had a bunch to get done today, and it is so much easier when they are in school. haha!
Anyway, I am sooooooo close to showing you our final laundry room reveal. My goal is to share it with you on Friday! #fingerscrossed
Today, I wanted to do a quick post about the butcher block that we used for the cabinets in our laundry room.
Did you know that they sell butcher block at Lowe’s now?!! I was thrilled when I found out they did, because y’all know I LOVE me some butcher block!
We used butcher block in our kitchen renovation over 5 years ago.
And we also used butcher bock for the vanities that Cy built for the boys’ bathroom cabinets.
I knew that I wanted to use butcher block in our laundry room too because it is just so darn beautiful and affordable. It also gives that wonderful farmhouse feel that I love so much. I have been so impressed with how our butcher block has held up in our kitchen and bathrooms, so I had no hesitation of putting it in our laundry room.
The butcher block from Lowe’s is great quality!
Butcher Block Description
- Solid wood butcher block
- Made with Baltic birch
- Fully customizable
- Harvested from sustainable forest
- Can be stained or lacquered
- Warm clean feel
Here are the cubbies that Cy built for me to fold and sort laundry on….
We stained the butcher block with “dark walnut” MinWax stain, but Cy applied it a little bit darker than I wanted, so we lightly sanded it to get this beautiful color. Then we sealed it with a polyurethane.
Butcher Block is such a classic look, and I love having this large space to fold clothes on. I just sat those fern prints on top of the butcher block for these pictures, but I will actually be styling this space differently for the final Laundry Room Makeover.
What do you think? Isn’t it beautiful?!
*This post was sponsored by Lowe’s. All ideas and opinions are 100% mine. :)
It is beautiful and affordable, which makes it a win-win!!!
Absolutely Beautiful!
You want mind doing laundry ! In fact it may no longer be a chore. I LIKE.
Beautiful! <3
Oh! I love this look! I had no idea you could find butcher block at Lowe’s!
I love it! We used stain grade plywood for our laundry room countertops and stained it a similar color. I love it too, but it’s not as beautiful as this.
Ever thought about a post showing the inside of your kitchen cabinets? The best location for dishes, utensils, pots and pans? Organizing tips? What do you use your revolving cabinet for? Just a thought. We recently moved back into our renovated home after a house fire. It gives me a do-over so to speak.
So beautitul. You are so talented.
Incredible…what can we say?! Thank you for the Lowe’s having butcher block tip! It’s going in my kitchen, too!
It looks great! I love Butcher Block also. Tell me how does it hold up to stains and water spotting
GREAT! I seal mine with Polyurethane, so I have no problems at all. If you do not use poly, you main get stains.
Love it!!!
Stunning, I mean really WOW…love it.x
Thank you, Janette!
This is absolutely stunning :)
Thank you, Sarah!
The butcher block counter and cabinet looks great – as does all the laundry room details so far. I’ve enjoyed visiting your blog and others for a long time now, when I have extra time to do so. Life is busy as I’m sure you know. I noticed that today’s post is password protected. I just want to be honest and say that if I have to sign up for emails or get & enter a password to view a post, I will no longer be a visitor. I understand the blog is a business and I totally get and respect that, but I only have so much time in a day to browse my favorite sites so am cutting the list down some. Thank you for all the great posts over the years.
Hi Debbie! Sorry about the password protected post. It’s a sponsored post that doesn’t go live until next week. I should have set it to an earlier date so you guys wouldn’t see it. It was my mistake.
Thank you for replying. So many blogs seem to be adding different features for “subscribers,” or folks that sign up. that sometimes makes it difficult to hop on quickly and catch up with a blog. (which is the way I do it). :D I appreciate you taking the time to get back to me…and I’m happy that I can continue to visit your blog easily! I do so like to hear about your wonderful family and home. Have a wonderful day.
Trying to access summer nights and it asks for a password. What’s up never had that happen is it a new thing. Help
Sorry about that. It will be live next week. It’s a sponsored post so I had to password protect it for now.
Love this! Do you happen to have plans for the cabinets or folding counter? I’d love to copy!
Hi Shelby! You can find videos to many of my laundry room projects on my youtube channel. :)

Love your laundry room, and especially the folding station. Did you use the same method to build these open shelves as you used to build the shelves beside the washer and dryer?
Yes, mam! :)
Hello, I absolutely love this! Do you have the dimensions for the cubbies? We are looking at the 48” butcher block for the counter top and want to make cubbies like this.
We have moved from that house, so I don’t know the exact measurements, but they would probably have been at least 18″x18″ or bigger.
Love the folding station with cubbies. Had one built exactly like it. Just a quick question…where did you get the baskets. I cannot find them on the internet. Thanks.
Jeannette
Thank you, Jeannette. We created this laundry station in our last home about 6 or 7 years ago. I got them at Michael’s at the time, but I don’t know if they still have them.
