My Dream Barn-House Retreat!

So I was just strolling through the ol’ internet this weekend, and stumbled upon my dream Barn-House Retreat!

(*all photos are from countryliving.com)

This gorgeous barn is located in Mississippi and was built to be a gathering place for family and friends.  There is so much character in this space, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw the living room.

I’m a huge lover of wide open spaces, so this living room just makes me melt.  Being a family of seven, things can get kind of crowed kind of quickly. :)  That’s why I love vaulted ceilings and extra floor space for us to spread out.  I know we would have a ton of fun family nights in that living room if it were ours.

I also love the look of the concrete floors.

The dining table is extra large and can sit four chairs on each side, plus two more on the ends.

And then there’s the kitchen…

The kitchen is a similar design to what I would like our future kitchen to look like.  (Yes, I want a new kitchen!  haha!  It will be a couple years down the road, but I cannot wait!!)

I love the black grid windows and how the stove is part of the large island.

There are two barn doors on each side of the kitchen.  One leads to a pantry and the other leads to the home office.

How great is the bedding in the bedroom below?  Plaids and stripes all deliciously mixed together.  Such a warm and inviting space.

To create more space for guests, the barn owners added a room with two sets of bunkbeds.   I want to do this when I have grandkids someday! :)

Check out the herringbone pattern on the wall in the “gear room.”  Such a great space to store the hunting gear.

Y’all know I love concrete sinks, so I absolutely adore this poured concrete sink with unfinished edges in their mudroom.

The barn owners favorite spot in the whole house is their screened-in porch, and I think it would be my favorite place too.  With that gorgeous swing and a fire pit to roast marshmallows, I don’t think I would ever leave!

Also, tonight I will be hosting another  FREE “Getting to Know Essential Oils” online class at 8:30 pm EST.

I had so much fun at my last one, and I am looking forward to hanging out with more peeps tonight! We will be discussing what essential oils are, how you can use them, and how they can improve your health in a safe and natural way.  Plus, I will try and answer any questions you may have about essential oils.  If you have any friends that are interested in learning about the oils, they can come too!  You can just leave their email address in the comments, or email it to me at traci@beneathmyheart.net.

If you are interested in attending, just say “YES!” and I will send you an email invite about 30 minutes before the class begins.  (I will use the email address that is connected with your comment.  If you need me to use a different email address, just leave it for me in your comment.)

See you tonight!
