Family Fun with a 3M Mobile Projector {And a $150 Target GiftCard Giveaway!!!}

One of the coolest things about blogging is getting the opportunity to try new products. Last week I got a 3M™ Projector in the mail to try out, and my husband has officially dubbed it “the coolest thing you’ve ever gotten through blogging!”

Every Friday is Family Night, and this 3M™ Mobile Projector is going to be a regular part of our Friday nights from now on. This past Friday, I was at my sister’s house working on her laundry room re-do. While I was working I hooked up the 3M Projector to my iPhone and put it on the dresser in the guest room. The 3M Projector can be plugged into an outlet for power but it also holds up to a two-hour charge.

Adam and Eli watched a superhero cartoon on Netflix! My brother-in-law, Wayne, who is a super “techy” guy absolutely LOVED this projector!

outdoor 025

I also took some pictures of the 3M Projector in my kitchen one night.

3m 010

I told Luke to stand in front of the movie so you could tell how big it projected the movie on the wall.

3m 004

I looked up “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” on YouTube for this picture. (Doesn’t that kid look like he is pointing his finger at Luke?)

3m 008

What I love about this projector is that you can take it outside and use it while camping or hosting an outdoor movie night with friends.

Luke and I went outside and projected the movie on our shed.

3m 026

It was actually darker outside than it looks in this picture. I was trying to shoot in “manual” mode to let in more light, and it caused everything to be blurry. But the movie wasn’t. It looked awesome! The boys cannot wait to have friends over to watch a movie outside.

3m 034

For fun, Luke projected to movie on the back of our car. How cool is that?!

3m 036

The 3M Projector works with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod. You can watch YouTube videos, slideshow photos, TV or movies via iTunes.

With an additional cable, you can even use the 3M Projector with your PC.

This product is sold at Target, and there is an iTunes $25 Gift Card limited time promotion (included with the projector in specially marked packs). You can find out more by clicking here.

  2. How’s the sound? It looks like such a cool idea! My kids are grown so family movie night is generally just my husband and I. OUr favorite way to watch a movie is to curl up in bed with the pups.

  3. If both my boys sit for an entire movie it is a miracle. But this would be great, we could set it up outside and let them run and watch at the same time!

  4. Our little ones are so young still, we’ve yet to have a family movie night! After I win this though, Elmo may just have to be the new Family Movie Night. :)

  5. As our nest is now empty, we usually invite some friends or neighbors over for “family night” movies. We hope to take our movies outside this summer – think it would be lots of fun!

  6. We haven’t had enough of these lately (baseball and softball season!), but when we do, we like to sprawl all over the family room and eat popcorn while watching a movie.

  7. We love having a tv dvr Friday night…order a pizza make snacks ..and settle in to the Sectional…we even put a note, on the front door to not disturb :)

  8. Our baby is too small to participate in family movie night, but the hubby and I have our “date night” every Friday and usually watch a movie. As the baby grows, our plan is to do Friday night homemade pizza and movie night!

  9. Movie night is awesome when it is snowy outside everyone has popcorn and stays inside. In the summer movies are often enjoyed when we are camping.

  10. It’s rather challenging to have a family movie night this days. There are not many movies out there that will suit both a 17 year old boy and 5 year old girl. But when we do, it’s all about big bowls of popcorn, pizza bites, and snack foods. We’ve even been known to do a movie with Sarah ad then one with boys after she goes to bed.

  11. Our family movie nights are with Redbox flix in our movie room. We make popcorn and cuddle up under blankets!

  12. Who knew there were still any kind of projectors? I am so surprised at this. Our family are adults, so now our movie nights are days with our 4 year old granddaughter. hehehe

  13. We haven’t done it before, but I love the idea of an outdoor theater! No movie night is complete without popcorn!

  14. We love family move night! They usually are on Friday evenings in our home. We make our own pizzas, have a ice cream bar and of course POPCORN! In the summer we love to go to the Drive Inn! We pack up our chairs and sit in the back of my husbands truck and snacks! We get there early enough to throw a frisbie or football around. Love movie nights!

  15. We do family night every saturday night with movie, popcorn and candy. It’s our favorite night of the week!

  16. We do our family movie nights on fridays. Throughout the week the kids earn “money” for good behavior and can shop the “concession stand” (which is usually over the top). Each child has their own tray and we spread out blankets on the floor with all our goodies and share an evening together!

  17. Pizza, a movie and cuddlin on the couch :-) can’t wait till my husband gets home from dePloyment so he can join me and lil man :-)

  18. That projector looks so cool! We like to do a family movie night by watching something on netflix and my husband makes really good popcorn! We sometimes get sleeping bags out to put on futon mattresses to act like we’re camping while watching a movie. It’s so cozy, I sometimes have trouble staying awake!

  19. We love outdoor movie night at our local park, and we would love to do it in our own yard with all of the neighborhood kids. We could make outdoor movie night a tradition in our neighborhood!

  20. My favorite family movie night thing. ME!!!!! Just me, my popcorn and my ice cold ice tea with no interruptions . :)

  21. Our family movie night is grabbing a bunch of DVD’s we already seen a hundred times, popping some popcorn, grabbing beverage of choice, each grabbing his own blanket, finding a spot in the living room and each settling down with a bowl of popcorn to have a wonderful night of laughs.

  27. Friday nights are our movie nights – curled up on our big sectional with popcorn and a bottle of wine for my husband and I!

  28. We are lucky to share movie night with our Grandchildren. Friday night is pizza and a movie. The kids grab a spot on the floor with blankets and us adults get the couches. Popcorn and soda and we are ready to go…

  29. Friday nights are always pizza night (& movies sometimes). It’s tough with 4 teens & work & sports schedules, but always fun when we can all hang out together. A little family “iron chef” dessert of smoothie throw down always makes it even more interesting. We borrowed a projector once for our sons birthday – 4 kids at a time racing on wii Mario Kart – great fun!!

  30. Our fav family movie night is a pizza dinner in front of the TV. We even break out the TV tray tables. It has a 70s sort of vibe. :) The kids think it’s such a treat to eat and watch a movie at the same time. I love the idea of a neighborhood, ‘walk-in’ theater in the back yard though.

  31. We don’t have movie night very often, but when we do, we usually have dinner in front of the tube while watching our movie. Of course, this means pausing the movie several times as everyone has to leave the room at different times because they forgot something in the kitchen. Maybe not the best way to do it, but it seems to work for us.

  150. We love to wear comfy pajamas and curl up on the couch with a big bowl of stove cooked popcorn and watch a family fave like Back to the Future!

  151. Movie night is one of our favorites. Usually on a Friday night we make our favorite dessert, order pizza, throw on the pj’s, pile up on the sectional and order our favorite pick for the night. Lights out and we’re ready to roll! Sounds good for this Friday after a little man’s week with a broken finger and a round of strep throat.

  152. we usually order pizza delivery and Eskimo Pie and rent a dvd. half the time it seems to involve vampires movies.

  153. They are actually amazing! I have friends who have one and they LOVE it for outdoor movie night! Our current favorite way to watch movies is all snuggled up in bed with everyone in a pile (including the dogs.!) with a big selection of healthy snacks and water! Of course if we win… we will definitely move to outside movie night when the weather permits!

  154. Family movie night means mattresses on the floor, popcorn and comfy jammies for the whole gang!

  155. We usually wait until our granddaughter comes over and then pick our favorite spots on the sofa and load up on popcorn with M&Ms in it!

  156. This is the coolest thing ever!!!! I would love to win it! Love the idea of family movie night outside projected on the wall!!! Love, love love! Thanks Tracy for bringing these cool things to us! Blessings, Sarah =)

  157. This is so cool. My kids are grow. With kids of their own . We still have movie night one Sat a month. The family that hosts picks a kids movie and an adult movie. It’s totally fun and everyone has a great time….

  158. Our very favorite thing to do for family movie night is to start with homemade pizza, and hunt down a netflix instant stream… happiness. :)

  159. This would be so great to have so we could turn regular old movie nights into outdoor movie nights! I know our neighbors would have a blast coming over with their kiddos to watch movies with my family! This would be a great way to get the neighbors together , have a cookout then a movie under the stars, I can see it already!

  160. Our movie night is on Friday after dinner. The kids pick the movie, get a little treat and we cuddle on the couch–so much fun!

  161. My daughter and I love to watch movies snuggled up on the couch with. M&M’s and a BIG bowl of buttery popcorn!

  162. My favorite movie nites don’t happen all the time,. It is when I get to visit my granddaughter and we snuggle on the couch with popcorn and get to watch a movie we love.

  163. this would be awesome for camping! our 5 year old daughter is just getting into the disney movies so an evening under the stars with a disney film would be perfect =)

  164. I love this thing!! We watch movies out in our backyard with a big clunky project, speakers, and a computer! This would be so much easier.

  165. Our kids are only 3… but they love to climb into our bed and watch a special “bideo” as they call it. to be able to snuggle and just be together as a family is such a blessing

  166. We love family movie night! It is such an economical way to be together and have fun. On special occasions, like holiday times, we’ll go to see one together at the theater; but mostly it’s at home with snacks and lots of sofa snuggling. : )

  167. Our movie nights are always on Friday. We vote for a movie to see, and then after all the hustle and bustle of the week is over, get cozy on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and some freshly baked cookies for a relaxed night in!

  168. How fun is that!? Our family night is every night! We all love curling up before bedtime on the couch and watching a movie or reading books:)

  169. Movie night occurs at least once a week at my house, but I have been dying to host a ‘drive-in’ movie night in our backyard. There is only one problem…we have no way to project the movie. Kind of a key component! this would be perfect and the size would make it so easy to store when the night is over. I need this 3M projector! :)

  170. My daughter is just now old enough to sit through a movie, so my husband and I are getting to re-experience movies we loved, both Disney & Pixar! We love to watch movies on Saturday mornings before Daddy has to go to work and the day of activies get started. It’s a nice way for us to bond at the beginning of a day rather than the end!

  171. Since it’s still mostly just my husband and me (we usually watch a movie after our two-year-old has gone to bed), it’s pretty low key…just a movie. I should jazz it up a little!

  172. Our family TV night is watching American Idol. My 3 yr old loves the show as much as I do! :)

  173. We have two kids who are running this way and that with all their sports and activities, so we try to have at least one night of family time a week. Usually we either grill out or order a pizza then do a movie at home. This might actually be the perfect thing for the outdoor cul-de-sac movie nights we’ve been thinking about for the summer. Thanks for the review :)

  174. We could so use this for ministry. When we moved across the country to pastor a struggling little church, we were unable to bring a decent size tv for movie nights in our home. We have perfect walls for this, one inside, one outside. It would be such a great ministry tool!

  175. We typically will do movie night on Sundays after an early dinner. We make popcorn and watch a movie we’ve rented from Redbox.

  176. My husband and I have never been involved in watching movies because we could never really afford a TV or computer… When we want to watch a show it is usually done on my tiny iPhone screen. It would be so lovely to watch a movie on a large screen for a change. =] God bless

  177. This 3M projector is totally cool…I would love to have one so I can bring the movie night outdoor, especially in the summer. I love family movie night. My son and daughter takes turn picking a movie to watch (limited to 1 per night though). I’m always the one who prepare the snacks and drinks for our fun night cuddling on the couch.

  188. I love doing Family Night with all 4 of us eating popcorn we made, and then putting in a classic that we all enjoy like “True Grit.” Inevitably, 2 of the 4 will fall asleep there, but it’s fun while we’re all awake!

  189. We have family movie night almost every weekend. With 4 kids it’s so much cheaper to stay home to watch movies than to buy movie tickets (and all the expensive popcorn and treats at the theater!) We have a lot more fun at home too. With a projector we could watch outside and invite friends to watch with us!
