Family Fun with a 3M Mobile Projector {And a $150 Target GiftCard Giveaway!!!}

FAITH & FAMILY

21 May

One of the coolest things about blogging is getting the opportunity to try new products. Last week I got a 3M™ Projector in the mail to try out, and my husband has officially dubbed it “the coolest thing you’ve ever gotten through blogging!”

Every Friday is Family Night, and this 3M™ Mobile Projector is going to be a regular part of our Friday nights from now on. This past Friday, I was at my sister’s house working on her laundry room re-do. While I was working I hooked up the 3M Projector to my iPhone and put it on the dresser in the guest room. The 3M Projector can be plugged into an outlet for power but it also holds up to a two-hour charge.

outdoor 026

Adam and Eli watched a superhero cartoon on Netflix! My brother-in-law, Wayne, who is a super “techy” guy absolutely LOVED this projector!

outdoor 025

I also took some pictures of the 3M Projector in my kitchen one night.

3m 010

I told Luke to stand in front of the movie so you could tell how big it projected the movie on the wall.

3m 004

I looked up “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” on YouTube for this picture. (Doesn’t that kid look like he is pointing his finger at Luke?)

3m 008

What I love about this projector is that you can take it outside and use it while camping or hosting an outdoor movie night with friends.

Luke and I went outside and projected the movie on our shed.

3m 026

It was actually darker outside than it looks in this picture. I was trying to shoot in “manual” mode to let in more light, and it caused everything to be blurry. But the movie wasn’t. It looked awesome! The boys cannot wait to have friends over to watch a movie outside.

3m 034

For fun, Luke projected to movie on the back of our car. How cool is that?!

3m 036

The 3M Projector works with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod. You can watch YouTube videos, slideshow photos, TV or movies via iTunes.

With an additional cable, you can even use the 3M Projector with your PC.

This product is sold at Target, and there is an iTunes $25 Gift Card limited time promotion (included with the projector in specially marked packs). You can find out more by clicking here.

How’s the sound? It looks like such a cool idea! My kids are grown so family movie night is generally just my husband and I. OUr favorite way to watch a movie is to curl up in bed with the pups.

It’s rather challenging to have a family movie night this days. There are not many movies out there that will suit both a 17 year old boy and 5 year old girl. But when we do, it’s all about big bowls of popcorn, pizza bites, and snack foods. We’ve even been known to do a movie with Sarah ad then one with boys after she goes to bed.

A little family “iron chef” dessert of smoothie throw down always makes it even more interesting. We don’t have movie night very often, but when we do, we usually have dinner in front of the tube while watching our movie. Of course, this means pausing the movie several times as everyone has to leave the room at different times because they forgot something in the kitchen. Maybe not the best way to do it, but it seems to work for us.

Teenagers! Need I say more? Ok teenage boys. Our family movie nights sometimes have to incorporate more than just our family. In order to have the kids at home, since they are teenagers, we will invite their friends to join in. This way we get to spend time with our kids at home. And I know our house would be a hit if we had this product!

Family Movie Night is such a treat – it is that one precious time where we can all be together having some quiet family time!! Unfortunately there is so much hustle in our world these days that it is so nice to have this time together. An additional treat is pizza, ice cream, popcorn or some yummy snack!!

Our family loves movie night! We try to pick a movie we all want to watch, and either rent it at the store or Uverse. There is always popcorn involved a a special drink, like izzies or root beer. At the new house we are moving to, there is a red barn in the back with cleared land beside it. I am already planning on hanging the backside of a billboard canvas on that barn, and watching movies out there with the youth group from our church, and whoever else. Would love to have the 3m projector for that very reason!

We get everyone’s favorite snacks, PIck up two or three movies (everyone gets their say…so maybe an action, a drama and a chick flick..it is always an unusual mix.) We hunker down in the family and watch away.

We love to spend Movie Night at a Drive-In movie theater nearby. We get a big tub of popcorn, a bag of Twizzlers and set up in the back of the car with lots of pillows and blankets, the stars in the sky above us, and the cool fresh air around us. Best part is, you get 2 movies for one price!

Wow the possibilities are endless with this projector. I work with our youth group at church and the times we could have used this. I am also a picture taker and create slide shows . To have the capability of showing them anywhere would be great. Absolutely love this would be so great to have one of these.

We have two kids who are running this way and that with all their sports and activities, so we try to have at least one night of family time a week. Usually we either grill out or order a pizza then do a movie at home. This might actually be the perfect thing for the outdoor cul-de-sac movie nights we’ve been thinking about for the summer. Thanks for the review :)

We could so use this for ministry. When we moved across the country to pastor a struggling little church, we were unable to bring a decent size tv for movie nights in our home. We have perfect walls for this, one inside, one outside. It would be such a great ministry tool!

This 3M projector is totally cool…I would love to have one so I can bring the movie night outdoor, especially in the summer. I love family movie night. My son and daughter takes turn picking a movie to watch (limited to 1 per night though). I’m always the one who prepare the snacks and drinks for our fun night cuddling on the couch.

I am looking for a portable projector with the ability to display split screen from two different inputs. I currently have a casio xja246 that

can do this through the wireless display capability, but I need to be connected to the internet through wifi while using the projector, so

    wireless connection isn’t an option.

I was thinking of doing an outdoor movie night birthday party for my 3 year old twin boys and I came across your blog!!
I was thinking of renting a projector but this is amazing!!! Not only could I use this for their party in July, I could use this at work for presentations!
Thank you for posting your experience with this fun, new gadget!!!!

We enjoy popcorn, a movie that is family friendly and we all pile up on the couch to watch together.

Choosing a movie everyone loves and turning the lights off and snuggling on the sofa under a big fluffy blanket!. I also like to make my movie snack mix (popcorn & M&M’s mixed together) Thanks so much!

Our favorite way to do movie night is to rent a movie from the red box and cuddle up on the couch together to watch it.

Wow. That looks like such fun. I just wonder about the sound. We love to do family movie nights by having a treat relating to the theme – like Harry Potter we have a ‘trolley’ show up at the same time as the movie. I’d love to do a faux-drive thru style movie with one of those!

We usually rent movies on Saturday night and then buy candy and pop popcorn. We all put on our sweats and grab our pillows and blankets and claim a spot on the floor or couch.

My children are all adults but I have friends who do at least one big outside movie event every summer. He built a huge screen and they have a real projector with movies on reels and they make it a neighborhood event. I think I’d love to take this camping and enjoy a movie just before bedtime. Right now I usually just grab bits and pieces of movies as I’m doing other things.

I love to get those foods that you get at apps at a restaurant (wings, cheese sticks, etc) and eat those while watching a fun family movie.

We have a big screen TV (not huge though) in the basement and every Friday night we do family movie night. We order from Netflix, pop popcorn, the kids get to choose either a soda or some candy and we watch as a family.
