Wow!  Guess what I forgot to announce last week?

Yep…

The Haven ticket winner!

I’m so sorry.  Sad smile  Without further ado, congratulations to….

Bre Himlie!!

I will be sending you an email about your winning ticket!  Woohoo!!!  See you at Haven!

Today, I wanted to quickly show you a couple of small DIY makeovers I did to the light and mirror in my Master Closet makeover.

First up is the light.

The room original had an ugly old ceiling fan.

I love ceiling fans, but I don’t like ugly ceiling fans, so it had to go!

A couple of years ago, I bought this antique chandelier at a yard sale for $5 bucks.  {Well, I don’t know if it was really an antique, but it looked old, so we will call it that.  It makes it sound like I got a really good deal!} Smile  I kept it because I knew I would use it for something someday.

I could have left it alone and would have probably loved it, but I decided to have a little fun and spray paint it with some blue spray paint.  I didn’t even prime it because I knew it wouldn’t be getting any wear and tear from hanging up there from our ceiling. Smile

After Cy hung the light, I added some new white sleeve thingies that I bought at Lowe’s for a couple of bucks to the candle lights.

I love the punch of color it adds to the closet!

Next, I bought this old mirror at our local antique mall for $22.   I liked the shape and size of it, but not the color of the wood.

So I fixed that quickly by adding a couple coats of Annie Sloan chalk paint in French Linen, my favorite color.

So easy.  Smile

I really do love this mirror.  I also found that little wooden seat one the same day at the antique mall for $15.  Perfect!

  1. Looks great! Did you make your roman shades, as well? If so, are they lined? I’m wanting to make some but need some simple step-by-step instructions. :)

    • Funny you ask! I did make those, but out of something unconventional. It is not lined, and I will share a video of how I did it soon on my blog. :)

  4. I can’t wait to read about your trip to Nicaragua. My oldest daughter just got back from a Compassion trip (with Crossroads Christian Church) to Bolivia. They had such a good trip and her pictures were precious. She got to meet one of the girls she sponsors. And her fiance met a teenage boy that he has started to sponsor. I didn’t get to hear too much from her about it though, because she took off 3 days later for China for the summer. I’ll be praying for you and the rest of the bloggers who are heading to Nicaragua!
