3 Magazine Features {Jonathan, Me, and Sania Louise!}

Happy Wednesday, y’all!

I hope you are doing well.  We’ve been super busy around here.  :)  Sania Louise is doing great and adjusting really well.  We are so very proud of her and feel so blessed to have her in our family.

(You can follow “hutchersonfam” on instagram for photos of our crazy family…no blog stuff.)  :)

She is teaching me so much about myself, about family, and about God’s grace.   God is so very good.

I wanted to share with you three fun magazine features of our family.

First off, Jonathan was featured on the cover of Hearing Health, a publication out of Tennessee.

They contacted him shortly after he was on The Voice and asked to interview him.  The hearing impaired community has been super supportive and encouraging of Jonathan ever since he was on The Voice.  He considers it a great honor to represent the hearing impaired community and hopes to inspired other hearing impaired children to dream big!

Sweet Sania Louise’s room was featured in the latest issue of Girls’ World!

We were contacted several months ago about doing a feature of her room.  At the time, we were not able to share her name, so we asked them to use the name Mary Elizabeth.  It is so special to see her room in this magazine.  Creating a special place for her to feel at home and loved was very important to me, and this space definitely fits the bill.  She LOVES her room…especially that she doesn’t have to share it with anyone else.  :)

They sent us an issue to our home, and Sania Louise was so surprised to see her room in it!

She has no idea what is going on or what I do for a living.  She doesn’t even know that I have a blog, or that people around the world have seen her room.  I know that one day she will finally figure it out, and I cannot wait to have her help me on projects around the house.  She is a great little helper!

Lastly, the county that I live in has started a brand new lifestyle magazine, and they asked me to be on the cover of the inaugural issue!  It was such an honor!  They interviewed our family shortly before we left for Latvia to get Sania Louise.

David, the chief editor, came to our house to interview me and my family.  He did a great job capturing the story of how my blog has slowly grown into my business, but he also shared a good deal about my main inspiration, my mom.  I loved that he included her influence on me and my blog in the story.  I know that she would be so proud!

Our hearts are feeling very grateful right now.  We are not a perfect family, and we do not live a perfect life, but man, we are counting our blessings.  We have a lot of love between us.  We treasure each other.  We know that all good things come from God.

We pray that if anyone reads about any of us in a magazine, on social media, or on my blog, that God’s goodness and faithfulness is evident.  That it is obvious that this life is not about us, but about the indescribable grace of Jesus.

This world is struggling in so many ways.  I know that your hearts have been heavy like mine with all of the sad events taking place around the world.  It feels like too much sometimes.

And my heart simply cries out….Jesus.  He is the answer.  Our world desperately needs Jesus.  Not the distorted view of Jesus that many in the news portrays, but the REAL JESUS.  His real forgiveness, His real healing, His real peace, His real grace, and His real salvation.  That is my prayer for all of us.  To know the REAL JESUS.

  1. Amen, Traci! So happy for all of the wonderful happenings in your life and especially how you are using your platform to talk about Jesus’ love and grace.
With all the bad in the world, I look at what you and your family have done – you have given a little girl a better chance in life. She will know Jesus and love for the rest of her life!
Andy Stanley tells a story about a small boy picking up starfish stranded on the beach and throwing them back in the ocean. Someone told him – “there are so many, there’s no way you can save them all!” He picked up another, threw it in the ocean, and said “but I can save this one”. We can’t get rid of the hate in the world, but we can love our neighbor. We can try to make a positive impact on the people around us.

  2. God certainly knew what he was doing when he put that little girl in your life! To God be the glory you are truly blessed. When I saw the picture of your Mom and Sania almost side by side it blew me away how much she resembles your mom! I’m sure you probably get that all the time but WOW! Congrats on the 3 articles!!

    1. Thank you, Loryl. It’s amazing how much Sania Louise just “fits” so perfectly with us. We are so grateful for God’s handiwork!

  3. I adore you and your precious family. Congratulations on the magazine features and I come into agreement with your prayer that people see the love of the REAL Jesus as they read the articles.

    xo

  4. Traci, congratulations on all three issues. Isn’t it amazing how God can use what’s going on in your ‘everyday life for his glory! Look forward to the day when Sania Louise not only realizes her room was seen around the world but that so many strangers prayed for her to come home to that room and pray for her still.

    1. Me too, Sue! I love that she will someday be able to look back at these posts and read all of the comments and prayers about her. ;)

  5. Congrats to you and your beautiful family. So many God given blessings you have. Praise God!! Love the song you shared. We sing it in church too. So beautiful. God bless you sweet lady ;-)

  6. So thankful that God honored so many prayers and your hearts desire to provide a forever home for Sania Louise. Thank you for pointing us to Jesus and for crediting Him with the honor and the glory. I love my t-shirt and how it gives me opportunities to share not only a piece of your story but the word of God, my favorite verse, that I know will penetrate the hearts of those who need HOPE. Sincerely, Sally Kirk (mom of 4 sons and 2 lovely daughters in law) ;)

  7. It’s so good to see stories being shared in magazines that glorify God. God is certainly using you and your family to share His love and grace.
I pray God will continue to use y’all in great ways.

I’m also so glad that Sania is enjoying her new forever family. She is so blessed to have you as you have been blessed to have her. :-)

    God bless all of you.

  8. Congrats on your new daughter! She is absolutely beautiful!!! So nice to see a picture of her that isn’t blurred in some way or another. She looks SO much like your other children, it is unbelievable!!!!! It truly was meant to be by the Grace of God. I am so happy for you guys in all of the features in the magazines. And, last but not least, I am like most in that my heart has been very heavy and sad. I agree 100% that we all could use some more Jesus in our daily lives. Sadly, the folks that follow you probably aren’t the ones that this message needs to reach the worst. Sending blessings my sweet ‘friend’!

  9. Blessings on you, keep sharing your faith! Love to see that as much as your projects and all the other involvement with your business!

  12. I love you, sweet friend, and I’m so very, very happy for you. I recall a conversation you and I had once. . . no matter the platform, we will preach Christ. You do that so well! I am proud of you for fulfilling your calling in so many wonderful ways.

  13. How very exciting!!!! God is such a good Father and His love is shining through you and your family! Thank you for allowing yourselves to be used by Him. You and the words to write -as well as the DIY projects- are such a blessing to me. And Amen. The world needs Jesus. He is the real thing. The One who heals and restored ALL things.

  16. Today I was sitting at the VA Medical Center in Vermont and I pick-up up a magazine to read and found your son on the cover. I have been reading your blog for some time so I knew that face. It was wonderful to read the story in print. Blessing to your your beautiful family.

  17. I first heard Lauren Daigle on my way to church during the Christmas season 2013 singing Light of the World and fell in love with her voice. Thank you for sharing this. Traci, you are so beautiful and God’s love just shines right through you. I love the light in your eyes since you received your sweet angel blessing. She looks so much like you and your boys. What a precious gift. I have and will continue to pray for you and your family. So very thankful God has blessed you and this sweet baby girl!

  18. Such beautiful features of a beautiful family. Your hearts shine through. I have to say that as I looked over from the photo of your beautiful Sania, your mom’s picture was off to the right and something about Sania’s eyes reminded me of your mom’s. It got me teary…

    God is good.

  19. Warms my heart you all are doing so well, many answered prayers are evident in this update! Love you all!
