My Wellness Journey Update! {3 weeks down – 3 to go!}

Happy Friday, friends!

I am so excited about this weekend because the weather is a little warmer, and I am hoping to get a lot done on the outside of our house.  You know, mowing, picking weeds, new mulch, etc.  As a kid, I would have thought those tasks were torture, but as an adult, I truly look forward to them.  Being outside is my happy place!

Soooooo, I wanted to give you an update on my Journey to Wellness.  I shared with you about 4 weeks ago that I was starting a new program called “FASTer Way to Fat Loss.”  My sister is doing it with me, and we love it!!

I know it has only been three weeks, but I feel soooo much better.  Not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.  For the first time in a long time, I actually feel like I have some control over my weight issues, and it is the best feeling in the world.    Which is definitely helping me mentally and emotionally.  :)

I have not taken a current picture of me because I do not want to take “after” pictures until the end of week 6.  BUT, I did take “before” pictures.  I just don’t know if I have the nerve to share them.  UGH.  We will see…

But I will tell this!  I HAVE lost weight and even better, I HAVE lost inches!  (I just won’t know how much until I weigh and measure myself in 3 more weeks.). But I feel it in my clothes already.  I am fitting into clothes that I haven’t been able to wear in quite some time.  #nonscalevictory

The best part in all of this is that my boys have noticed.  They are so cute and supportive and have been cheering me on.  A couple of days ago, Adam was at school all day, and when he came home, he saw me in the kitchen and said, “MOM! You look smaller!!”   It made my day!  :)

Today, Jonathan came in the front door and said, “Mom, your face looks thinner!”

I kind of felt like my face was looking thinner too when I took this picture of myself after my hair appointment this week, but hearing Jonathan say that he noticed gave me that extra boost to keep on going!

When I first started the “FASTer Way to Fat Loss” program, it felt a little overwhelming because you have to work out 5 out of 7 days, keep track of what you are eating, focus on low carb days and regular calorie days, and implement intermittent fasting.   I basically stop eating between 7-8:00 pm every night and do not eat anything until after 12 noon the next day.  Sounds bad, but it really isn’t.

Now that I am three weeks into this program, I feel like I am finally getting into the grove of things.  I do not miss not having breakfast at all.  I am almost never hungry, but instead have trouble meeting my calorie requirement each day.  The working out is a little difficult because I haven’t done it in YEARS, and dude, I am out of shape!!  But I do what I can, and I can feel that it is making a difference.  I go to the weight room at our local university, but I could do the exercises at home if I needed to.  Amanda provides work out details for both the gym and at home.

I will admit that the first week that I started working out, I could barely get out of the bed in the morning and going to the bathroom was quite the feat!  I was able to sit, but getting back off the toilet, well…..

But I am persevering!

I have also been taking the probiotic that Amanda suggested, and I am really glad I am.  I keep learning more and more how important “gut health” is.  I finally feel like my digestive system is working the way it should now.

I can’t believe how good I feel, and I have only been doing this for 3 weeks!  It makes me excited to see how I feel at the end of the six weeks.  AND, I’ve already decided to continue this program for a second 6 weeks, when this round is over.

Just this week, Amanda came out with her brand new cook book and sample meal plans to go along with her program, and I have already downloaded it.  I am looking forward to making some of her delicious recipes for me and my family.

Amanda is starting the FASTer Way to Fat Loss 6 week program with a new group of ladies this Monday, so if you want to join in that group, you can do so by clicking HERE.

Next week would be your “prep week” and then you would start the program the following week.

If you have any questions about this program, please ask it in the comments, and I will answer them. :)

I will be back in three weeks with my “after” pictures!!  Woohoo!!

  1. Hi Traci. You look great. I too have weight issues and need to lose 30 lbs. I have so much trouble sticking to a plan, as food is a comfort for me. Curious to know what the $199 covers? That is a lot of money, but you can’t put a price tag on health, right?

  2. I’ve considered this program for several months but just can’t decide. I don’t really need to lose weight but want to firm, tone, and develop lean muscles. I hesitate because of the exercise program. Do you exercise while fasting? I leave for work around 8 and sometimes not home until 6:00. Not sure where I would find the time.

  3. FYI – Your link from your email doesn’t take me to this post, it took me to your “get the look” with the Kitchen looks and where to buy.
I’m impressed with your progress, and I too need to lose some weight BUT I don’t really have $200 to spend on that as of now so I’m doing what I can – I already don’t eat poorly, I just don’t work out – and I’ve started that too. So excited to see your after pics!!!!
