Beneath My Heart

I’m going to Uganda!

FAITH & FAMILY· Travel

Do you remember when I traveled with Compassion International to Nicaragua last year?

Compassion Bloggers Nicaragua 2013 - Project 186 - Day 2

It was one of the most amazing experiences that I have ever had and one that I will never forget.

Now, in just 4 days, Compassion is headed to Uganda, and I am going with them.

Follow the Compassion Bloggers in Uganda

Well, sort of.

My heart is definitely going, even though my body is staying in the states.

Compassion is taking another group of bloggers to Uganda to celebrate their 5 year anniversary of blogger trips.  Uganda is where these blogger trips all started 5 years ago.

I think it will be amazing to see how Compassion has grown in Uganda over this time.

One of my blog friends, Nester, is going on this trip, along with her sister, Emily.

Both of these girls are amazing writers, and I cannot wait to reach each and every post that they write while they are on there trip.  {Plus more posts written by the other bloggers traveling on this trip.}

I know it will take me back to Nicaragua in my heart and remind me of those precious children that I got to meet, especially the child that I sponsor, Cesar.kmsd 719

And remind me of the joy and hope that I saw in their eyes because of the difference that Compassion is making in their lives.

I wish I was going to Uganda with them.  I would go on every single Compassion trip they take if they would let me. Smile

Because as much as those kids think that we {the sponsors} are blessing them, it is really them who are blessing us!

My heart aches to be surrounded by their smiles again.

So I will read each post that the bloggers write.  I will be sharing their posts with you on my facebook page and twitter.

I want to encourage you to take this trip with us.  Read each post and let the words of hope sink into your heart.

You will be blessed beyond words, I just know it!

Will you go to Uganda with me?  Smile

Bookmark THIS PAGE to keep up with the trip which will be starting soon!

Compassion is a great place. I work in Colorado Springs, CO just 2 blocks from their large call center. I always say you get more than you give with children and sponsoring them and you affirmed that. Victoria

I will definitely be following along. We just began sponsoring a little guy in Uganda last July as the result of the blogger trip and posts you all did then. What an honor and joy that $38/mo can make such a difference in a child’s life. We just received our 2nd correspondence from him this very day. You are so right – he blesses us far more than we could ever bless him!

I LOVE following along on their trips — and reading through each blogger’s experiences. It’s truly life and perspective-changing, just to read those posts. Of course I’ll go with you. :)

I know how much you enjoyed your trip. You will be more aware of the places they visit. I can’t wait to hear all about the trip through your eyes.

    God Bless

I am a Compassion sponsor of two beautiful girls in Rwanda. I also have my own personal blog and I have a page dedicated to them. I am interested to learn more of what you do to blog about Compassion and how I might do that as well. I am hoping to go and visit my girls in Rwanda in the next two years. It doesn’t show a trip available to go to Rwanda as of yet. Thanks for what you do as a sponsor and blogger! God’s blessings!

I am a Compassion sponsor of a young child at the Makindu child development center in Uganda. If you happen to be visiting this facility, will you private message me? I know your days will be full, but if there was a chance for you to see/meet our child, I would love to share his name with you and maybe pass along a message and a hug!? I so wish I were traveling with you all. I feel that this little boy is truly part of our family although we’ve never met. I pray one day I will see him – either there or in the US (how great a day would that be?). Thank you in advance!
