Our Farmhouse Christmas Front Porch!

Before I left for our trip across the world, I quickly decorated our new front porch for Christmas.  You know I have been dying to have a front porch to decorate ever since we moved into our home five years ago.  We build our new front porch this past spring, and I was looking forward to decorating it for Christmas the most!

Now, I didn’t do anything fancy to my front porch, just some simple farmhouse decorations to make it warm and welcoming.

I wish I could have gotten a picture of the whole front porch all at once, but there is a pretty good slope at the front of our yard, and as soon as I try to back up and take a picture of the whole front porch, I start to sink lower and lower, and I really need to get a ladder to take a level picture of the porch!

But you can imagine a window box on the other window as well, right?  ;)

The focal point of my front porch is the beautiful berry wreaths I got at Lowe’s.  I grabbed them as soon as I saw them because I knew they would look great on our new front doors.

For each side of the door, I simply purchased a small live evergreen tree from Lowe’s and placed it in a metal bucket.

Lowe’s has the cutest Christmas decorations this year, and I fell in love with this pinecone garland!  It was the perfect, simple touch for my little trees.

I need to be the first one to write a review on these little cuties because they are adorable!!!

So cute in fact that I bought some for our fireplace!  See?!  One box of pinecone garland fit perfectly on my fireplace mantel.

I also bought my mini white lights and red ribbon at Lowe’s as well.  I tried to find the red plaid ribbon online at Lowe’s but couldn’t.  But if you go into your local Lowe’s, they will most likely have a section set up with all types of DIY Christmas decor like the one from mine below…

I found my red ribbon in that section, and I used it throughout my house as well.  It gives the perfect farmhouse vibe. :)

My Aunt Tassy gave me the large black lantern for my birthday, and my cousin, Kelly, suggested that I layer different size candles in my lantern, so I did. :)DSC_13951

I found the striped rug on clearance at HomeGoods and layered it under my welcome rug.

For our window boxes, I purchased two planters from Lowe’s and painted them the same color as our shutters, Valspar Ebony Fields.

Once painted and hung, I stuffed the bottom of the planter with newspaper and layered real greenery from Lowe’s on top of it.  I also used some faux red berries from Lowe’s decor section to fill in the greenery, and then added a battery operated candle in the middle.  Looking at these pictures, I may make another red bow when I get home to go in the middle of the window box right below the candle.  What do you think?

I think this is the one I got, but I am not 100% sure, but you can find them in the Christmas decorations. :)

I can’t wait to get back home and see the candles glowing at night.

I also purchased some flood lights to light up our porch at night.  I always love adding that extra light to showcase our decorations.

So that’s it!  Our farmhouse front porch!  Sure wish I could have each of your over for some hot chocolate!  Wouldn’t that be fun?!!a

    1. We got them from a local business called Elite Building in Nicholasville, Kentucky. They were returned by another customer, so we got them for almost half off. :)
