Progress on our Master Bedroom Closet and a Big Announcement!!

January 13, 2011 AT 2:29 pm 13 Comments

Hey, ladies!

I wanted to share with you a quick video of the progress we have made in turning the laundry room in our Master Bedroom into a closet.

We have lived in this house 6 years, and we have NOT had a closet in our bedroom.  My clothes have been hanging in our hallway closet!

So even though this closet is  not huge, it feels HUGE to me!  I love not having to leave my room to get my clothes on.  :)

I will warn you…this video is very poorly shot…a videographer I am not.  :)

Since the shooting of this video, my husband has installed some shelves and a clothes bar on the other side of the closet.  I will share the final product with you soon.

And now for the BIG announcement!

I am having my biggest giveaway ever on my blog starting Monday!!!

I am so excited about it I can hardly stand it!!!!

Here is a hint of what it might be…

See you tomorrow for my Closet Makeover Linky Party!

  1. Yay for closets!!!

In our first house the closet was so small that I put my clothes in the spare bedroom closet (also small, but at least I didn’t have to share it!)

A Silhouette machine, perhaps??? I was totally hoping that your big announcement was that you had gotten the house-what’s the status on that? Have I missed anything? I hope it works out for you because I would love seeing your progress on fixing it up-I could live vicariously through you!

  3. I think it’s fantastic! Europe has no closets per se. We have huge wardrobes in our foyer/hallway- makes getting dressed interesting if you haven’t picked clothes out ahead of time!

I have been reading your blog for about a month and have loved all your posts, but this is hands down my favorite so far for probably the dumbest reason ever. Your husband. No, I’m not calling him dumb, I’m just so tickled to see someone else is married to a man who comes home from work and by 10:00 at night is still has their dress clothes on and building stuff. My husband does this ALL the time and it drives me bonkers and I’m always telling him that no one does that!!! He will be happy to know that I’ve been proven wrong (which never happens I tell you)! Loving your closet. Can’t wait to see the finished product:o)

  5. Congratulations on getting a closet!! I am wanting to make a laundry room in my master bedroom closet! Ithink that would be awesome!

I won’t complain about my itty bitty closet any more. My husband and I each have one, but they are not walk ins…very tiny and the space is not very well designed. BUT it’s in my room, so I do have that to be thankful for! : )

I’m working hard on my linen closet! Don’t know if I’ll be able to get the post up tomorrow or if it will have to wait til Saturday, but from the looks of the trash bag my son just took out and the “sell” pile on my bed, I’m not sure I’m going to fill it back up!

Good for you. Having a walk in closet is something I know I take for granted too often. Ours is not huge either, compared to some I have seen. However, when we were building the house and my sweet mother in law was looking at the space which was just framed in, she thought it was a baby nursery! Our baby at the time was about 10 years old, and she is still our baby. That has always been funny for me to think about that! Happy for you! Gail

I am loving that he is so dedicated that he doesn’t even bother changing out of his work clothes–just gets straight to work. I love the floors too. How hard is it to install your own hardwood?
