Mad for Plaid {and Tartan and Buffalo Check…}

Happy Tuesday, friends!

I’ve been crazy busy the past week, and I am so sorry that I haven’t been able to post.  I’ve had several posts in “draft,” but haven’t even had the time to sit down and publish them!  WHEW!  “Tis the season!”  :)

Yesterday, Jonathan and I drove down to Nashville for a meeting with some music managers.  He has some exciting things coming up with his music career.  I can’t wait to share them with you soon. :) We drove back home last night, so we were in the car over 7 hours!  As soon as we got home, I went straight to bed.

Anywhoooo….

If you have been on Pinterest or perusing blogs at all this year, you have had to see all of the beautiful red and black buffalo check pillows and blankets in Christmas decor.

You have probably seen a lot of tartan and plaid as well.

I LOVE all three of these beautiful designs, and I have been looking for ways to put them in my own Christmas or winter decor.

I found some of my favorites online, and wanted to share them with you.  These would make some great Christmas gifts! :)

Have you incorporated plaid, tartan, or buffalo check in your home decor this year?

I’m thinking it would be fun to add to my front porch decor!  I will let you know if I do!

  1. Hi! I just discovered your blog and love it. All of the plaids are amazing! Would you mind telling me where you purchased your cream sofa from? Love it!
    Thx for sharing!

  2. Hi again, I believe the sofa I am referring to is from another blog. Sorry! To answer your question, yes, I have incorporated a plaid throw on my front porch. Sure cozies it up! Thanks for all the tips!

  3. Plaid has always felt Christmas-y to me. We have tartan in the dining room, buffalo check in the screen porch, some random plaid that matches our colors in the living room, and goodwill found car blankets on the front porch. Your suggestions are inspiring! Merry Christmas!

  4. This year for my birthday (october) I decided I finally wanted some curtains in my living room. Part of me felt I was crazy to think red gingham, but I did it. I really wanted to find 3″ buffalo check red and white. But I couldn’t find any fabric or curtains affordably priced. I ended up with 1.5″ gingham and I love it! It gives my home just the right pop. I followed it up with a valance of red gingham with chickens over my kitchen sink. Funny thing about the valance. I made them 12 years ago for our first home and they’ve been in a box for the last 10 years. I loved them but every home we have lived in since that first house they didn’t work. I finally am getting the right feel in this house!

  5. Yes to plaid! I have tartan plead ribbon on my tree and front door wreath, and I love wearing plaid and checks his time of year. Funny too because I’ve been looking at the gray and white buffalo plaid comforter at pottery barn- it was on sale and I missed the sale 😫
    Love all the cozy rooms !
