Our New Laundry Room Windows!

Hey! Hey!

Guys, I have been a little under the weather the past two days, but I am excited to finally be getting my bearings today.  I think I should be 100% tomorrow! :)

Monday, I shared with you how we painted the exterior of our laundry room, and today I am sharing the new Pella windows that we installed in this space!

I LOVE THESE WINDOWS!!!

This is exactly what I was envisioning in my mind when I designed our new laundry room!  I wanted natural light, light, and MORE light in our laundry room.  The difference that natural light makes in a room is incredible!

We actually installed these windows several months ago, and I cannot tell you how much I love them.  I love that I can see the kids playing in the back yard while I fold clothes, and having a lot of natural light makes the laundry room feel fresh and clean!

Anyway, when I designed the laundry room, I knew I wanted a large window on the back wall.

We took the measurements of the opening to the window department at Lowe’s and explained to them what we wanted.   I wanted to be able to open the windows in the spring and fall to let the cool breezes in, so we decided to get three double-hung Pella windows for our laundry room.

I also knew that I wanted our windows to have black grids, but the windows we wanted didn’t come in black, so I knew we would have to paint them.  No. big. deal.  You can watch in the video how we simply painted the windows with Rustoleum spray paint, and they turned out gorgeous!

Without being redundant, except I guess I am…. I LOVE THESE WINDOWS!!!!  Like, for realz, y’all!  :). They literally “make” the space to me.

Here are the details about our windows:

  • 30″ x 60″ Pella 450 Series
  • Aluminum Clad
  • double hung
  • white aluminum clad on the outside
  • primed white on the inside
  • snap in grids

Here is what our laundry room looks as of today.  (I snapped this pic on my phone.) We still have to paint the trim and baseboard, install the sink faucet, and do a few other things in this area.

But we are getting there!

Check out how we painted and installed these windows in the video below.  If you like our video, please give it a “thumbs up” and you can subscribe to our channel by clicking the red “subscribe” button directly below our video (if you are viewing it on youtube.)  You can click on the YouTube icon on the bottom right corner of our video to view it on youtube.

  1. Your black windows look great. What material were the windows made of that you were able to paint them?

    1. I’m asking because we’re thinking of getting vinyl clad windows, and wasn’t sure if you could paint them.

  2. Traci, I love the windows, but I love the sink even more! Is it soap stone? My parents have one in their laundry room which is in the basement of their home. I have always loved the style of this sink, so I told my dad how much I would like to have it someday. He told me that they had it put into the house before main floor was put down, because the sink is so heavy. SO in other words if I want it, I will have to have some heavy equipment to move it! I hope you enjoy your sink as much as I would!!

    1. Hi Pamela! It is a concrete sink that I found on Craigslist. I would have loved to have found a soapstone sink, but wasn’t able to. They are EXTREMELY heavy, and yes, you would probably have to have equipment to move it up stairs. :). But it’s worth it to me! ha!

  3. The black really makes them pop! Can I ask what paint color you used on your walls? I am wanting some farmhouse colors for my house & I’m becoming overwhelmed by all of the choices!
