A Beautiful Christmas…Day 2-Recipes!

Welcome to DAY 2 of the Beautiful Christmas…on a Budget series!

Today, Katie from Frugal Femina will be sharing with us some Christmas cooking and baking ideas!  Yum!  I love this part.  :)

Last year, she shared how to make homemade candy canes!  I can’t wait to see what she comes up with this year!

And if you missed my favorite Christmas treat that I posted about last year, click HERE to see how to make these delicious buckeyes (and hear the story behind them why I make them every year.)

  1. My mouth started watering when I saw those! This must be recipe added to my list of candies to make for the holiday. Love the cranberries & candle centerpiece. My kind of decorating!!!!

  2. Hi Traci! I just wanted to pop in and tell you as I was decorating my kitchen for Christmas I pulled out the sweet little gingerbread garland I won from your give away a couple of years ago. You put our names on the little ginger people. It’s so sweet and I always think of you when I look at it. I haven’t posted too much of my decorating yet – I’m a bit behind!
Hope you’re doing well. Those little buckeyes look so good. I’m going over to read about them.
    Merry merry,
    Shelia ;)

  3. I have wanted to try buckeyes for forever, and just don’t around to it at Christmas. This year I tried a new recipe that I found in a murder mystery book, of all places. Actually, the whole series is about a girl who owns a cookie shop and every book (I think 13, so far) has great recipes in it. Well, this one sounded so easy and rich I had to try it. They’re called Chocolate Raspberry (although I used strawberry jam instead of raspberry) Truffles, and I used both semi-sweet chips and white chocolate chips. I’m going to post about the recipe the next time I make them (I was in a hurry last time and didn’t stop to take pics).

  4. Traci,
Can i use regular melted chocolate instead of doing the gulf wax and chocolate. The idea of the wax and it being in your stomach kida creeps me out. I know it is edible I just would rather use melted milk chocolate if that will work. Please let me know. Thanks and by the way I love your blog!
