Window Shopping {$500 Visa Gift Card Giveaway!}

I do a lot of “window shopping” when I go to the mall, but that is not the kind of window shopping I am talking about today.  Smile

I’m talking about actually shopping for new windows!

I need some badly in my office.  The windows in my office are the originals that came with the house which makes them over 40 years old.

As you know, very often old windows equal bad drafts.  That is the case in my office.

The drafts in my two office windows were so bad that I had to use white duck tape around the window seal this past winter!

I am dreaming of new windows in my office.  I want double hung windows that make it easier to clean.

    We just finished replacing all our windows in our old house–We did mostly double hung, and then a few of the crank-out windows for our bedrooms.
    There just something about new windows that make me love washing them!

  19. The closest retainer for Integrity Windows is Delaware Lumber & Millwork of Salisbury Inc, which is only 20 minutes from us. Being on the Eastern Shore, we usually don’t get so lucky.

  23. I am a quilt maker who lives in a Log Home in Vermont. Most of my original wooden windows do not open. The ones that bother me the most are in my Quilt Studio it gets so warm in the summer in the room and since I can’t open the window I have to stop sewing as my sewing machine does not like the heat.   30. If you’re getting windows with pane dividers (grills), get the kind that have the grills between the panes. Makes the windows SO much easier to wash! I thought I’d died and gone to heaven when we built our house and got those kind of windows, as opposed to the ones in our old house that you had to wash each little pane separately!
    The closest location to my house is about 25 minutes away in Hartville, OH.

  91. Garage Doors of Indianapolis is our closest. And boy do we need new windows! Our home was built in 1963 and these babies are original. And most of them are custom sizes. We were shopping for windows when we had to dig up most of our entry floor for a plumbing repair. The windows had to move 1 spot down on the list!

  227. Cleaning. That’s my biggest issue when it comes to windows. That’s why I would love the Double Hung windows and I can use Cash Lumber & Hardware, the nearest Integrity dealer.

  230. My dealer is California Craftsman in Auburn, CA. Glider windows are my favorite, they open and close easily. I like the Wood-Ultrex Glider Windows – they are simple, low-maintenance, and are easily to removable, so they can be cleaned. :)
