Barn Door Ideas

You guys… coming soon is the reveal of our barn door we’ve been working on adding into our home. I can hardy wait to share it with you.  For years I’ve been eyeing these sliding barn doors all over Pinterest, in every design magazine and even in some of my friend’s homes.  So when we had the chance to add one to our home, the excitement overflowed. 

I’ve rounded up a few of my absolute favorites for you as inspiration to DIY.  Overall, building our own was not too tricky and is a perfect holiday DIY project!

  3. My “barn” doors are the Room I and Room II doors from the school where I went to grades 1 & 2, and later taught first grade in the same school building. They are 12 pane glass with the original finish and black stenciling for the wording. Absolutely love ’em!

  4. I like the look of barn doors, but one thing I’ve wonder about is privacy. Since they don’t seal shut, I gather you wouldn’t use them on a bathroom or a room you needed to “sound proof.”
