Progress on our Garage & Laundry Room

Well, we are sloooowly making progress on our garage.

We had to spend some time getting rid of a bunch of dirt and leveling out the ground on the left side of the garage to avoid draining issues.

And we finally got windows for the bonus room installed.

Here is what it looked like the last time I shared about our garage…

Do you see my new washer and dryer in the garage?!  I’m so excited about getting them in our laundry room!!

Our garage doors are getting delivered this Friday, so Cy has to get all of the trim in the doorway ready this week before they can get installed.

Here is the inside of our bonus room with the new windows in it…

I am amazed at how much space we have up here, and I can’t wait to make it a fun space for my boys {and girl!}

Here is the view out the window of the huge tree in our front yard.  I love that tree.  :)

The back wall of the bonus room is closed in, and the hole in the floor will be the steps going down to the garage…

Cy made a lot of progress in the laundry room this week, but it isn’t “pretty” progress.  He got the whole laundry room plumbed in.  Installing the water lines is a tedious task, but we got it done!  Now Cy is going to install the electrical, and then get all of his hard work inspected and approved.

The window in the wall is where my current laundry room is, but we will knock all that out and create a doorway into what will become my new “butler’s pantry.”

It’s a little ugly in there right now, but soon it will start to come together.   The weather is turning cold now, so we have to get this space “dried in” with the window and door.

I’m so glad we decided to put a large window in our laundry room.  I can’t wait to see the sunshine flooding in while I am doing laundry.  I’m hoping it makes doing laundry a little more enjoyable.  {wink}

Well, that’s it.

I’ll give you another update in a week or two.

Right now, I am getting ready to go vote!  I can’t believe Election Day is finally here.  Praying that God will direct us all in this very important decision.

Have a blessed day!

  1. Traci, It is coming together very nicely. Y’all will love the new space when it’s all done. My DIL shared an idea with me to make doing laundry a bit easier, that I have implemented and am glad I did. And that is, use a different laundry basket for whites and colored clothes. I’ve added one more for towels. Now when I need to wash, I just pick up one basket, and I’m off.

    God bless!

  2. It all looks AMAZING! What you’re both able to do and all that you accomplish never ceases to amaze me. Keep up the good, yet hard, work! I’ve loved your last few posts. I just haven’t had a second to tell you. Thank you for your openness and vulnerability about your family, your faith,and personal struggles. May God continue to richly bless all that you do and your family. xo. 3 John 2

  3. WOW! I’m impressed. Cy reminds me of my dad who could do anything! Great to see couples who can still do their own renovations, add-ons, etc. It can be wearing on a family and relationships. Good work, and it will be so so worth it!!

  4. Amazing job!!! Love it! Lots of light in a laundry room is awesome and I’m pretty sure it will make your days doing laundry ALOT brighter! My husband and I try and do DIY projects around our home to add a more custom touch! Love seeing other husband and wife teams!
