Our Christmas Nights Tour

Hey friends!

Today I am so excited to be participating in the Christmas Nights Tour hosted by my friend, Rachel from Maison de Pax!

If you are taking the tour, then you may have just left the beautiful home of Sonya from At Home with the Barkers.   WELCOME!

This is such a fun tour because we get to see all of our Christmas homes lit up at night!  And isn’t that the best part of decorating?  Enjoying all of the beautiful lights in our home at night while we curl up on the couch with some hot cocoa and a good Christmas movie on tv?  :)

I admit that I leave the lights on our tree on all night long so that when I wake up in the morning and stroll through the den to the kitchen to get my cup of coffee, I am greeted by the soft glow of our Christmas tree.  Makes my heart happy!

One of our favorite traditions is coloring in our Christmas coloring books at night while watching a Christmas movie.  Throw some hot chocolate in there, and it is the perfect evening!

In our entry way, I added some cute little snowflake lights from Walmart.  They are battery operated, so no chords to hide!  #bonus

I love these lights so much, I may go back and get more.  They had reindeer and Christmas tree shapes too!

I love lighting candles at night, don’t you?  Little white votives are inexpensive, but add lots of cozy charm.

My mom’s nativity is one of my favorite earthly possessions, and I love turning on the light each  night.  I remember growing up and seeing this light glow on baby Jesus every night, and it warmed my heart.  Such precious memories.

I didn’t do a lot of decorating in my kitchen this year, but I made sure to add my mom’s little pencil Christmas tree.  She used to put it in her kitchen every year too, so I love having it in mine.

My mom and I used to make gingerbread garland and sell them at craft shows, so this year, I made some more for my kitchen tree.

It is my mom’s special baker’s clay recipe and design.  Making these this year brought back so many wonderful memories of late nights in the kitchen making these little creations.  We had so much fun doing it!

Now, I have to be honest that my favorite part of this tour is my daughter, Sania Louise’s room.  If you are new to my blog, we adopted a 9 year old little girl from Latvia this year, and this is her FIRST Christmas with us!  We are beyond excited to celebrate this special time of year with her.

She is so excited about Christmas, she can hardly stand it!!  I told her that we would decorate her room for Christmas, and after being a boy-mom for 15 years, I was super excited to buy some “girly” Christmas decor.

We went to hobby lobby, and she wanted this little house that lights up and plays music.  We turn it on every night at bedtime.

And then she picked out the two glass trees that light up as well.  I picked out the bottle brush tree because it was sooooo stinking cute!  #idie

We used some of the white snow stuff (what is that called?) to put on top of her dresser to create our winter wonderland.

Sania Louise’s Grammaw from Georgia found the adorable pink feather wreath at a thrift store last year, and I thought it was perfect to put right beside her Christmas tree.

For the tree, we got pearl garland and pink ornaments from Hobby Lobby.  I sat the tree in a galvanized metal bucket that I already had and sat it on the bench in her room.

My Aunt Tassie gave Sania Louise this adorable horse for Christmas, and she loves sleeping with it at night.  It’s name is Mary.

The crocheted angel that sits on top of her tree is very special to us because it was made with love by Sania Louise’s foster mom back in Latvia.

Well, that wraps up my Christmas Nights tour!  Next stop is my friend Aniko from Place of My Taste!

  1. Thank you so much for sharing on our Christmas nights tour! Your home is so festive and bright, but I especially love the sweet pink and pastel touches to your daughter’s room. Just gorgeous!

  2. Hi Traci, things are so crazy busy right now, but I do follow all your posts. I love how you have decorated for Christmas, especially Sania Louise’s room. I have a bit of a smaller house and it feels like I’ve done too much this year, problem is I love all my decorations. How do I scale back but still put out everything I love? (Your picture of “Never has there been…” is awesome.” I’d also love to make the gingerbread garland, maybe with stars or something with my granddaughters, would you be willing to share the recipe? (I understand if it’s something you want to keep private). I also love the decorations from you mom that mean so much, the nativity and pencil tree. Such a cute idea to put it in a casserole dish. Love, love, love! Merry Christmas Traci, praying that God will richly bless your whole family during the holidays and in the coming year. 🙂

  3. Your home is so beautiful and cozy at night Traci! I can’t imagine how much joy is in your heart to spend this Christmas with your daughter – what a blessing! Merry Christmas to you and your family and wishing you the best for 2017! xo Heather
