My Wellness Journey Update (With before and after pictures!)

You guys!!!

I hope you had a great Christmas!  It was truly one of my family’s best, and spending time with my family was the very best part. :)  {I’ll try to share some pics in a future post.} 

But right now, I am sitting on the couch writing this post and about to bust out of my skin with excitement for 2018!

Y’all, WE ARE GOING TO ROCK 2018!!  

And when I say “WE,” I’m not talking about my family, I am talking about YOU AND ME!!!

Many of you know that last year, (in February,) I started my own Journey to Wellness.  Our adoption of Sania was final, and I felt like I could finally breathe again.  I had really “let myself go” and wasn’t in a good place physically and mentally.  I HAD to make a change!

My sister and I had learned about an online fitness program called, “The FASTer Way to Fat Loss,” and we decided to try it.  BEST. DECISION. EVER.

I quickly saw results in my physical appearance, but I ALSO saw a huge change in my mental/emotional health.  I shared these embarrassing photos online, but I did it to motivate others to be their best self.  I was so excited to feel better, and I wanted others to feel the same way too!

The FASTer Way to Fat Loss not only helped me lose weight, but it also helped me have more energy and less “brain fog.”  And I began to learn how important it is to put the right type of foods in my body.  

Y’all, what we eat is huge…like HUGE!!!

And I love how I learned about intermittent fasting and carb cycling on this program.  

During the summer, I fell off track just a little bit with my exercising, but I was still implementing a healthier way of eating. And slowly but surely,  I have seen more weight coming off.  So I put the same workout clothes on and took some more “after” pictures, and I was so happy to see the results!

Y’all, I’m getting there!!  And I am so excited to keep going in 2018!!  Of course, I lost more weight in the beginning, and now I am getting to the part where I am trying to loose those “stubborn” last pounds.  But that’s okay.  I know I am going to get there.

I’m 47 years old, and my metabolism has slowed down, but the eating program in the FASTer Way to Fat Loss has definitely helped me lose weight.  And I have also enjoyed incorporating KETO into this program.  (I’ll share more about that in a future post.)

I’m am going to get even “tighter” on work outs and stick to the FASTer Way to Fat Loss program!

  1. I see you used Ketosis…..I am an odd one cannot use Ketosis it makes me gain…..I really need to loose tho.

  3. Congratulations on sticking with it. I too started a journey to better health. I hate I wasn’t as brave as you in taking pictures and putting myself out there. Thanks for keeping it real. We as women all have struggles. I love you and your sister. May the Lord continue to bless you and your family in the coming year.

    1. Thank you, Joan! I still can’t believe I put these pictures of me on the internet, but I have no regrets! It has held me accountable and hopefully encouraged other women to seek wellness too!
