Our Flip House Bathroom Makeover REVEAL! {Wayfair One Room Reno}
Friends! I’m so excited to share with you our flip house bathroom makeover!
We partnered with Wayfair for this project as part of the #wayfair1roomreno challenge!
Wayfair is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE spot to shop online because it literally has “a zillion things home.” A lot of you may know that they carry all the home decor you could ever dream of, but did you also know that they have a zillion home renovation products as well?
Yep! Faucets, appliances, flooring, lighting, building materials, hardware, and more!
So I had everything I needed for this bathroom makeover right at my fingertips! I had so much fun browsing Wayfair to find all of the products I wanted to create a beautiful bathroom.
But before we look at the after photos, let’s take a quick look back at what the flip house bathroom looked like when we began!
MY, OH MY! It was a mess!
There was one door that led from the bedroom into the bathroom…
The bathroom was small and dark. I had to edit these photos a lot to brighten them up!
As you can see, the ceiling was very low. We decided to push back the far wall and add another door that would lead into the new second bedroom that we were adding to the back of the house.
We also pushed the wall to the right back a bit to make room for our new bathtub and shower…
Below, you can see that we raised the height of the ceiling, planked it, and added a transom window for more natural light in this space. The doorway below is looking back into the original bedroom in the house…
Once we got the new layout of the bathroom framed up, it was time to start adding our products from Wayfair to make this bathroom come to life!
Are you ready to see the “AFTER” pictures of our
flip house bathroom makeover?
Here she is!…
(This is my favorite picture because you can see the transom window above the mirrors.)
In the mirrors above, you can see the shower addition to this bathroom, so let’s start there and break it down!
In the shower, we added Glossy 4″ x 16″ Ceramic Subway Tile in White to give it a clean, crisp, classic look.
We also added a beautiful Kingston Brass Millennium faucet set from Wayfair in the shower to add some “bling” to the space.
On the double vanity, we installed the matching Kingston Brass Millennium bathroom faucets. Yes, y’all! Brass is back, and I am loving it! Aren’t they beautiful?!
I love mixing the old with the new, and this faucet does that perfectly! It has the modern look of the shiny brass and mixes it with the vintage vibe of the cross handle knobs.
Okay, can we just talk about the Wagoner Double Vanity? I LOVE this piece! It makes such a HUGE statement in this bathroom. It is both beautiful AND functional!
Not only is the Carrera marble countertop (with undermount sinks) gorgeous, but this vanity is full of storage space! All of the doors and drawers come with a soft closing mechanism, and the bottom shelf is perfect for storing towels and baskets! We chose a black base for our vanity, but it also comes in white and grey.
Above the vanity, we hung two large Colbert Wall Mirrors. These thin brass mirror frames feature an ornamental circle on top for a simple touch of style.
On both sides of the mirrors, and in the middle, we hung three Hickerson 1-Light Armed Sconces. These sconces are more of a warm brass vs. shiny brass, and I really like the contrast.
Now, it’s time to talk about my FAVORITE part of the whole bathroom, and that is the custom, one-of-a-kind tile rug that I created on the floor!
If you watched my Instagram stories a couple weekends ago, you know that my son, Jonathan and I were up until the wee hours of the morning laying this tile. I used Penny Round Mosaic Tile in both black and white to create the tile rug that I designed.
The tile comes in 12 inch x 12 inch squares with a mesh backing. I was able to cut out the pieces of black tile from the mesh backing to create my design. It definitely took a little extra time and patience to create the tile rug, but to me….it was totally worth it!
You guys, I seriously love this bathroom at the flip house! Maybe I should move in there? {Or maybe not, since the bathroom is the only room we have renovated so far! haha!}
This bathroom is the perfect mix of vintage and modern for our 100 year old flip house! The penny round tile rug, wood planked wall behind the vanity, subway tile in the shower, and black and white color palette give this bathroom a touch of the past. While the shiny brass faucets and sleek design in the vanity makes the space feel more modern!
I cannot believe how big and roomy this space feels compared to the first time we saw it! It’s like night and day!
I kind of want to hide out from the kids in here! haha! It would definitely be relaxing!
So that’s it! What do you think?
Do you have a favorite part or product from this renovation? I would love to hear about it in the comments!
Also, I put together a video of this renovation that I will also be sharing on Instagram’s IGTV. You can check it out below.
And if you are interested in purchasing any of the products I used in this renovation, you can click on the affiliate links in this post or on any of the pictures below!
Stayed tuned this week for FOUR MORE “One Room Renos”

*This makeover was sponsored by Wayfair. All opinions and ideas were 100% mine.
Love the room and the tile “rug”!
Thank you so much! That was my favorite part of this makeover. :)
Great job Traci!
Great job and I especially like the tile rug.
Thank you, Gina!
Love the brass, black and white color choices! Sleek with a vintage feel.
Thanks, Susan!
I am smiling from ear to ear after watching the video. Y’all did a fabulous job on the bathroom. My favorite part is the tile rug you designed because it’s one of a kind. Now I really can’t wait to see how y’all transform and give the rest of the house a new life. God bless!
Thank you, Ginger! I can’t wait to share the rest of the flip house Reno with y’all too! :)
Congratulations on the bathroom. It is gorgeous. You didn’t end up needing the door for the photos 😜. As a side note I realise you make money off of advertising however you blog posts have become a little frustrating to read. I always use my phone to read blog posts and lately with yours each post I read one of your videos pop up which I have to close then I have to scroll through the post carefully scrolling past multiple advertising (this post alone had 8). I realise you need to make money but it breaks up the flow of reading your posts and 8 seems too many to scroll past.
Thank you so much!
I will check with my ad network about the amount of ads on my mobile platform.
Such an amazing job and I’m so blessed by how your family came together to support and care for one another throughout your husband’s injury. Such an amazing testimony!
Thank you, Jill! I don’t know what I would have done without Jonathan!
This is an amazing transformation! Beautiful!
Thank you, Liz!
Oh my goodness, that bathroom is gorgeous! Love it!
Thank you, Glenda!
Traci, your design is amazing and Wayfair must be thrilled. This bathroom is an almost unbelievable reno.
I have been concerned for Cy. Years ago I was teaching and my optometrist worked me in after school one day to check my eye because something just didn’t seem right. I was in surgery at 10 AM the next morning for a detached retina. Great optometrist, great surgeon, took awhile for recovery but I have it checked every year and all has remained fine. I’m empathetic with Cy’s issue and wish him good healing.
Thank you, Jay!
I’m actually at the doctor’s office with Cy right now getting checked again. He is still having trouble with his vision. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers.

Beautiful bathroom! You and your husband’s talents in renovating are amazing !
Thank you, Judy!
What a gorgeous transformation! I love everything about it! It does look like the perfect hideout! The tile rug will be a sweet reminder of time with your son.
My mom died when I was 16. Though my kids and grandkids never got to meet her, her love for Jesus and people is evident in their lives, as well. A sweet reminder of the power of prayer for future generations!
You are so right, Karen! Jonathan and I will laugh for many years to come about laying that tile in the dark with head lamps on! haha! Such great memories!

What a gorgeous room! Who knew Wayfair could be a one-stop source. You did a fabulous job! I’ll be copying that rug when I get around to a bathroom reno. 🙌
Hi Carolyn! Yes, Wayfair has so much more than just decor! You can do full renovations with their products!
Thanks for stopping by!
Traci
I see your bathroom on the Wayfair site ! It turned out so beautiful! You and your family all must be so proud of the result of your hard work.
I am also really enjoying the beautiful praise music you have been sharing, thank you.
Thank you, Glenda! We are super proud of how this makeover turned out! Thank you so much!!
Congrats! What a beautiful job you have done. I love your mix of materials. It was so much fun watching your progress on Instagram. I am amazed at what you managed to get done with all the craziness that you had going on with Cy and his eye. Happy Mothers Day and Congrats again on another outstanding job well done!!!
Hi Erin!
Thank you for following along on Instagram as well! It certainly was a crazy few weeks, but we made it through somehow! haha!
Thanks!
Traci
Beautiful! Love the entire space!
Thank you, Carolyn!
The bath is truly remarkable. Of course the rug is the outstanding feature……regardless of where you purchased the beautiful brass fixtures. I’m glad you have Wayfair for help and suggestions. I’m looking forward to being invited back for future accomplishments.
Thank you so much, Margaret! We had a lot of fun working with Wayfair on this project!
You are amazing! It’s absolutely beautiful. I have ordered from Wayfair because of your recommendations.
Happy Mother’s Day! You are truly blessed.
So cool! Thank you, Debbie!
Beautiful, Traci! I love the faucets from Wayfair, and that tile rug you designed…!!!!!
Thank you so much, Susan!
So beautiful! You out-did yourself on this redo.
Aw, Thanks, Sharon!! xoxo
Great job! The room is bright and light and very much on trend. Love it!
Thank you, Dianne! I definitely love bright and airy in a bathroom. :)
Absolutely unbelievable!! I can’t believe the transformation! Any chance the house will be ready to rent for a few nights in October for Asbury Homecoming or for next year’s Asbury Graduation? My daughter will be graduation next year. It would be fun to see this makeover in person!
HI Marianne! Thank you so much! We do not have a specific timeline for this flip house. I’ll be sure to share the progress on here for sure!
Thanks!
Traci
Beautiful!!!
Thank you, Angie!
First of all, Traci, happy mother’s day!! Secondly, that bathroom turned out amazing. I have a hard time telling you which feature of it is my favorite! I love that vanity top and foremost. The floor is super cool and that tile rug? Divine!! You and Cy and Jonathan knocked it out of the park on this one. Simply stunning! Can’t wait to see what comes next for the flip house!!
Thank you so much, Karen! We did have fun putting this together, (minus Cy’s eye injury. ha!)
We will be sure to share future makeover right here!
xoxo
Traci
Amazing transformation! Love the brass “jewelry “! I have to say my favorite is the penny tile rug. Perfect!
Thank you, Lisa! That’s my favorite part too! xoxo
Once again., you killed it! Absolutely beautiful : )
Thank you, Tina!!!
I love everything about this room, but adding the transom window is a great idea that few people would have thought of. Such a great addition to the room.
Thank you, Sylvia! I agree. I can’t imagine how dark this bathroom would have looked without the transom window! Now it is flooded with gorgeous natural light that I LOVE!
Blessings,
Traci
LOVE Love Love. The black, white and gold details are stunning. All your hard work paid off on this amazing project Can’t wait to see more of this flip house !
Thank you so much, Marilyn!!
Downright amazing. Beautiful details.
Thank you, Patti!
sorry but i could not possibly choose one favorite. the entire room just so totally goes together. everything just fits into each other. like a 1000 piece puzzle. terrific job. Hope Cy’s eye is continuing to get better.
AW, thank you so much, Brenda!
Traci, the room turned out beautifully. You did a great job on the video and I lone that you added the outtakes. That’s you, keeping it real. Prayers for continued healing for Cy.
Thank you, Sue! I probably could have added a ton more outtakes. haha!
xoxo
This is totally amazing. I LOVE everything, especially the vanity and floor. Your guys are very talented.
Thank you, Donna!!
This bathroom is absolutely stunning ❣️
I never realized Wayfair had so much good stuff ❣️🥰. YOU HAVE INSPIRED ME 😍
Aw, thank you, Mary! That was my goal!! xoxo
Great job. Love the tile rug,is my favorite. I Love it. I’m not sure I like the brass with the brushed nickel. I think with your colors the brushed nickel lights and faucets would look better and all to match. That’s just me. With the gray and white I prefer the brush nickel. But you did a great job. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Pam! Thank you for sharing your opinion! That’s totally fine. :). I prefer mixing metals. I stray away from matchy-matchy in my designs, but everyone is different. xoxo
Stunning, you have created a beautiful space.
Thank you, Nina!
Wow! This is just gorgeous! I am imaging the prospective buys walking through this house one day in the future and seeing this bathroom…and saying “SOLD!” You all did an amazing job on this room – top to bottom. I am sure Cy is itching to get right back into the renovation, but what a blessing for him to know that you & Jonathan did a wonderful job together and pulled through for the challenge. Congratulations!
Thank you so much, Claudine! I certainly hope visitors to the flip house will enjoy this space.
And I am so thankful that Jonathan was there to help me with this! I certainly couldn’t have done it by myself.
Blessings,
Traci
Oh, my friend. Of course, I’ve seen you do all kinds of things in the past. . . I’ve been reading your “Before and After” posts for a LONG TIME! But girl, I’d say you’ve outdone yourself here. That bathroom is one that anyone would be proud to have in their home. It’s absolutely gorgeous! Up-to-date but also timeless, you know what I mean?
I am SO glad you introduced me to Wayfair. After hearing you talk about them, I finally checked them out. So far I’ve ordered nine light fixtures and a rug from them. The customer service just can’t be matched! :)
Thank you, Richella! This was a project was a fun one! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed ordering from Wayfair. I agree that they have the best customer service around!
xoxo
You guys knocked it out of the park with the bathroom! You made such great choices, and your staging brings it all together. Wayfair should be thrilled to have you representing their products so well.
Aw, thank you, Connie!!
Oh my word, your bathroom makeover is AMAZING! Every detail has been so well thought out!
Thank you, Stephanie!
Spalike! You did a fabulous job! My favorite parts are the vanity and tile rug you created. It makes the entire space feel so custom….which it is!
Your comments for Mother’s Day brought tears to my eyes. I too so wish my Mama could be here to see my daughter and her amazing husband. But, we can pass along their lineage, the most important, loving Jesus.
Hope Cy’s eye is improving everyday.
Thank you so much! xoxo
So lovely! It’s hard to pick a favorite, but since we used a vintage dresser painted black as our vanity and put almost the same countertop on it, that just might be my favorite! You always have such a good eye and put together lovely, homey spaces.
Thank you so much!!
The bathroom is beautiful….love everything you did.
Thank you, Margaret!
I love the bathroom! Wayfair is also my first choice for all things for my home renovation.
Yes! They have literally everything you need!
Thank you!
I head to wayfair first too! :)
It is truly amazing what you all have done to this bathroom with the help of Wayfair. It is beautiful. Can’t wait to see what you do with the rest of the house.
Thank you, Linda!
The bathroom is beautiful, great job! ….and since you partnered with Wayfair…did you have to purchase anything out of pocket or did they provide all the lovely fixtures, etc? I know you have lots of sweat equity in this project, but I am just curious if all the big ticket items were provided at no charge by Wayfair or other sponsors.
I love the black and white, so crisp and clean.
Hi Karen!
I was given a budget from Wayfair to chose items for the makeover. We used our own money for all of the walls, subfloor, window, drywall, tub, toilet, etc, plus a TON of sweat equity. :) With my budget from Wayfair, I purchased the vanity, faucets, mirrors and lights.
Thanks!
