New Episode of Notes from Home!

Hello, friends!

I pray that you had a good weekend.  Today, I have another episode of Notes from Home to share with you!

But before I do, I wanted you  to know you have been on my heart and mind, and I prayed for you this morning.  I know we are all so overwhelmed with what’s going on in the world right now, but in my quiet time this morning, I read these verses:

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.

And now, brothers, as I close this letter, let me say this one more thing: Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about.

Phil 4:6-8

There are many beautiful translations of these verses, but this one spoke to me this morning because it says that HIS Peace will keep our thoughts and our hearts “quiet” and “at rest” as we trust in Christ Jesus.

Right now, there are a lot of voices coming all different directions at us, and we need to be still, be quiet, and listen to God.  His Peace can quiet our thoughts and our hearts to hear Him.

If you are like me, your thoughts and heart may feel restless and unsettled.  These verses tell us that His Peace gives our thoughts and our hearts REST as we trust in Him.  I cannot tell you how much I have clung to Him these past few weeks, and His peace DOES give me rest and calms my troubled heart.  His peace passes all understanding.

Verse 8 also tells us to fix our thoughts on what is true and good and right.  It is so important to limit our consumption of negativity and evil things.  Turn off the tv.  Put our phones down.  Get off social media.

And focus on things that are good in our lives.  Fill our minds with His word.  It will change our days and our lives.

Yesterday, I deleted my Instagram app off my phone for the day, and it was liberating.  I loved the rest from the “noise.”  We spent the weekend helping some friends build a new deck for their pool, (Well, Cy did.  haha! I was there for support.).   And I was reminded of all the GOOD in the world.  The sweet people in my life.  The little blessings that the Lord provides for me each day.

Didn’t mean to “preach” in today’s post.  But y’all have been on my heart, and y’all know I can’t help but share when something is stirring in my heart.   Love you guys so much!!

ANYWHOOO….

Let’s get to this week’s episode of Notes from Home!

Luke put together some of the videos I’ve taken on my cell phone of a few of the updates we have made in our hallway bathroom.

I hope you enjoy it!

  1. Traci, thank you for your words today and for pointing us to Scripture! He is the only One who can fix all this!

  2. Thank you Traci for the calming verses. They restore my soul. I return to music whenever my soul is troubled
and listen for meaning within the notes. It doesn’t have to have words to inspire me to open my heart to seek comfort and to be closer to God in these trying times.
I love your blog. I think you all can do anything! Also enjoy your sister’s blog. I found you through her!
    Blessings,
    Barbara Davis

  3. Your words are so “right-on”. I’m an 68 yr old grandma and the same thing has been happening to me. God has shown me places in my heart that did not bring “life” to me and to those around me. It so refreshing to live in that place where God is always changing us. Thank you Traci…stay true to yourself and who God has made you. Love you girl, Joyce
