Wood Tile Wall Bathroom Makeover

This is one of my favorite makeovers we have done with Hutcherson Home Remodel because I am in love with the wood tile wall!

wood tile wall bathroom makeover

This bathroom makeover was for a client that we did a lot of makeovers for last year. We remodeled her kitchen, laundry room, half bathroom, master bathroom, and two upstairs bathrooms!😳 Cy was working at her house for almost a year, so we got to know the homeowners really well.

The bathroom I’m sharing with you today is the last makeover we did in this house. The wife had asked me if I would help design it and make it a little masculine because it is the Jack n’ Jill bathroom between her two sons’ rooms.

Here is what it looked like when we first saw the bathroom…

Everything about this bathroom was dated…the lights, the vanity, the floor tile, etc. And the mirror was the wrong size for the space. The homeowner wanted to brighten up the bathroom by painting the walls a lighter color. The bathroom had no windows or natural light in it. She also wanted to replace the vanity, lights, mirror, faucet, and tile floor.

The walls in the shower area would also be painted the same lighter color. To make the shower look larger, we decided to install large tiles that went all the way up to the ceiling. We were going to keep the original tub, but get all new faucets. Lastly, we would be replacing the floor tile as well. Here is the before of that space…

I had been eyeing this geometric wood tile at The Tile Shop for some time and had been hoping we could use it for a future remodel project.

When I showed it to the homeowner, she LOVED it! At first, we thought about using it in the shower, like this inspiration photo…

But after much discussion, we decided we wanted to only use it as a focal wall behind the vanity. We are THRILLED with how it turned out…

I think the warmth of the wood tile pairs perfectly with the navy blue vanity from Wholesale Cabinet Warehouse in Nashville. The gold hardware on the vanity also ties into the wood tile and brings more warmth and a pop of color to the cabinets.

The homeowner chose these sconces to go on each side of the mirror, and I think they look beautiful! The white shade ties in well with the white countertop. The counter top is Sterling Light Vadara Quartz.

Now lets move into the shower space! Removing the old white tile and install these new 24×48 inch tiles all the way up to the ceiling made a HUGE difference! The shower looks so much larger now!

The glass shower doors that Cy installed also makes the room look bigger over all. I love the gold Delta shower system the homeowner chose.

The homeowner found this cute little print of an elephant in a bathtub to put over the toilet. It’s a subtle nod to their favorite college team’s mascot….Roll tide Roll!

We chose a neutral gray tile for the floor, but it has a concrete feel to it, which also adds a touch of masculinity to the space.

We are just thrilled with how this bathroom turned out! I wish you could see it in person! The geometric pattern of the wood tile wall is just stunning!!
