Jonathan Plays the Grand Ole Opry!

Last Saturday, November 22, 2025, Jonathan had one of his music dreams come true! He got to play at the Grand Ole Opry!

Ever since Jonathan began singing country music when he was little, he would say that one day he wanted to sing at the Grand Ole Opry. So it was completely surreal to see him up on that iconic stage.

Many of my family came down from Kentucky for the special night, and I will never forget it.

Before the big red curtain was raised for the show to begin, my dad leaned over to me and said with tears in his eyes, “This is a dream come true! My grandson is singing at the Grand Ole Opry!” We were all so excited, and a little bit nervous.

Background:

A few years ago, Jonathan wrote a song with his friend Mackenzie Carpenter called “I Wish You Would.” I’ve been listening to the demo ever since and have always loved the song. This year, Mackenzie released the song as her first Country Radio debut, featuring the Midland. It has done really well on the country music charts!

So when Mackenzie was invited to sing at the Opry this past weekend, she asked Jonathan to sing it with her.

I recorded it on my phone and uploaded it to youtube for you to see. I hope you enjoy it.

They both did an amazing job! (Except they didn’t have Jonathan’s mic on when he first started singing, but that’s okay.) They have been friends for so many years and have sang this song so many times together that there were little to no nerves, and just a whole lot of fun.

After they sang, we stayed for the rest of the show. The Opry is always a good time. And this night, the final singer was none other than Vince Gill! I’ve always loved his music. Jonathan said he saw him hanging back stage with his wife, Amy Grant.

It truly was a night we will never forget. There’s nothing quite link seeing one of your child’s dreams come true!

Next up is Eli! haha! Wouldn’t that be cool?!

Have a blessed day, friends!
