Beneath My Heart’s Christmas Home Tour {Part One}

Hello, friends!

Today, I am going to show you a little Christmas decorating around the house.

If you are visiting my blog from Just a Girl’s Christmas Home Tour…welcome!

I am so glad you are here!

Beneath My Heart's Christmas Tour

In my kitchen, I have this green buffet that you see right when you walk in the back door.  We use our back door more than our front door, so I wanted my guests to be welcomed with “Merry Christmas!”

So I downloaded and framed this beautiful chalkboard print from Dear Lillie.  You can purchase it HERE.  Plus, Jennifer has a ton of other adorable chalkboard prints and more in her online shop.  You can see another one I downloaded for my kitchen HERE.

I’m crazy about chalkboards!  I know they are a huge fad that everyone is using everywhere, and that is fine with me!  I can’t get enough of them! Smile

I painted a wood slice with chalkboard paint for this vignette.

We just recently hung this chandelier from Ballard Designs above our kitchen table, and I love it!  I hung some fresh greens from it to give it more of a Christmasey look.

We have open shelves in our kitchen, and I absolutely LOVE decorating them at Christmastime!  This kitchen has undergone a complete renovation from top to bottom that you can see HERE and HERE.

I have a lot of white dishes that I have collected from thrift stores or received as hand-me-downs that stay on my kitchen shelves year round.  At Christmastime, I just add some red dishes, and I have instant Christmas décor!  Smile

Beneath My Heart's Christmas Tour

I bought a set of red dishes from Walmart several Christmases ago at 75% off after the holiday.  I think I paid about $16 for both sets!  The boys love when I get these dishes out because they know that Christmas is coming soon.

I have a few other red dishes that I collected from Willow House years ago, but they no longer sell them. Sad smile

Here is a look at my green buffet from the other direction.  You can see my newly built DIY Galvanized Table in this picture.

Our guest bathroom got a complete top to bottom makeover too, and you can see that transformation HERE and HERE.Beneath My Heart's Christmas Tour

For this space, I just added a red berry wreath above the toilet and a new sign, and that was enough to make it feel Christmasey in there.

For our fireplace, I wanted to do something different, and I am in LOVE with dear heads right now!  I know they are a fad too, but they are so stinkin’ cute. SmileI couldn’t afford to purchase the ones I liked, so I made my own.  I’ll share the tutorial on my blog next week.

I strung some aqua ornaments on a string and draped them between the boys’ stockings.

You would not believe what this fireplace used to look like before we gave it a makeover.  You can see the transformation HERE.

We have a real tree in the den.  It smells soooo good!

It is so pretty all lit up at night!

If you walk past those stairs, you will be led into our master bedroom.

For this room, all I did was add a red poinsettia wreath above the bed and a red quilt.  Voila!  Those two simple touches make this space ready for the holidays.

I’ve never decorated our master bath, so this year I decided to add a small, real tree in the corner by the bathtub.

I love seeing my little tree each morning while I am getting ready.

I placed it in a galvanized bucket that I got at Gordman’s.  And then I added a pretty little sparkly deer to sit beside it.  Simple and sweet.

Well, that’s it for today!

Tomorrow, I will be sharing a Christmas tablescape with you, along with our hot chocolate bar!

Please come back and see me!

  1. Traci, it is all so gorgeous! I am loving all ya’ll are doing to your house, it is just amazing all the changes. I love your kitchen and your master bedroom. Looks just like a magazine while I was scrolling through. Merry Christmas, girl! xoxo

  2. You have really created the most cozy and comfortable looking home ever! Everything is so welcoming. The master bedroom is gorgeous! I love that red wreath above the bed too! Merry Christmas Traci!

  3. It is all so beautiful Traci… I gave enjoyed this journey of seeing you renovate your home. :) I have a question about the printables… I don’t quite get it. Ha! So if u paint your frame with chalkpaint, and download the file from wherever u buy it and print it at staples, do u apply it like individual letters, or one word at a time? I have done the wallart and wondered if its similar? Thx Traci and have a blessed day!!

  4. Traci I did the same thing with a gold deer that I got at the Goodwill. I cut his poor head off and stuck him right in the middle of a Christmas wreath. My boys (I have 7) think I’m crazy for doing that. I love the idea of putting 3 up. Great cheap minds think alike. Merry Christmas, your home looks wonderful

  5. Traci, Your home looks so inviting! I love all the touches of the remodeling and the Christmas décor. I’ve always loved your master bed. I’ve looked and looked for one like it but can not find one. I’ll keep checking though. Thanks for sharing everything you post on your fantastic blog.

  6. I love it! Just the right touches in the rooms. Btw, is the “Have yourself a Merry little Christmas” sign a real chalkboard drawing or is it a print or something?

  7. I have so enjoyed watching you & your hubby redo your house. Love the open shelving in the kitchen. If you can do it with 4 boys, I get I can too. Where do you store all your everybody “stuff”…below the countertop? ALSO I noticed your ceiling…what kind of wood did you use & how did you do it…along with your wood walls. I’m sure you have this on your blog somewhere if you can “point me” in the right direction. Thank you so much for your decorating skills and also for your spiritual input !!!

  8. So glad to have found your blog through the tour! Beautiful and welcoming. Love the pops of red in your master and all that open shelving! Happy Holidays, Kris

  9. I KNEW I could count on YOU for some red at Christmastime!! So many people seem to have banished red from their houses, but at Christmastime it’s an absolute must, don’t you think??

Everything looks beautiful, Traci, and I know you must be so proud of your home. I’m proud of you, that’s for sure!

    Love you, friend!!

  10. Just gorgeous! I have 2 questions:

    1. How did you print your chalkboard art?
    2. Do you love the wood countertops? They look amazing and I am in love with them, too!

    Merry Christmas!

  11. What a beautiful home you have created! I love both your Christmas decorating as well as your interior design decorating! Thank you for sharing!! Happy Holidays!

  12. Absolutely love your holiday decor. I’ve purchased and printed a Dear lillie print after seeing them in your home…was wondering what stain you used for your frame? I love the color!
