Must-Have Essential Oils for Travel

Hey friends!

Well, we are traveling up to NJ today to catch our flight to Latvia this evening.  I am typing this post on my laptop in the car.   We had to fly out of Newark because the tickets were 1/3 the price they would have been elsewhere.  Yesterday, we drove 5 hours and then stopped at a hotel.  Now we have 5 more hours to go before we reach the airport.  UGH.

I love to ride in the car, but my back doesn’t.  ouch.

Anywhoooo…..I thought I would tell you what essential oils I always take with me when I travel.  I seriously never leave home without them.

First and foremost, I never travel without Thieves.

This guy is my strongest battle partner against anything that could make me feel “under the weather.”

There are soooo many germs and such that we come in contact with when we travel, from gas station and airplane bathrooms (ew,) to airplane seats, to standing in crowded lines, etc.

So I literally bathe myself in Thieves.  I rub it on my neck, behind my ears, and on my wrists.

I keep Thieves spray and sanitizer gel in my purse as well.  I use the spray on toilet seats and luggage handles, and I even spray it in my mouth when my throat needs it.    Basically, anywhere I need things to be clean and without the “yucky bugs,” I use Thieves.

I also take Inner Defense (which contains Thieves blend, Oregano, Thyme, and Lemongrass) to be proactive against anything that might come my way.

Sania Louise has become a HUGE fan of Lavender, and we put it in a diffuser every night before bedtime.  It definitely helps her to wind down and sleep peacefully.

So of course, I brought a diffuser with us.  I own a total of five diffusers.  I got two from when I ordered two different Premium Starter Kits from Young Living, and the other ones I got from Amazon.  This is the one I brought with us:

Another oil that I always travel with is Peppermint!  This is my favorite for when I have “head tension.”  And for long drives in the car, this is a great one to keep you awake and alert!

It also helps support a normal digestive system, so I will be needing this when I eat a little too much Latvian food.  :)

Another oil that I love to travel with is Stress Away.  The name says it all!  Traveling to the other side of the world can cause a little stress sometimes, so this oil is a must!  And this stuff smells good enough to eat! Stress-Away-15ml-Essential-Oil-Young-Living

I have a small carrying case (similar to the one below) that I keep in my purse, and it is perfect for day to day use.

But I think I want to upgrade to one like this because I would love to bring even more oils.

You can NEVER have too many oils.

Going through airport security is no big deal.  I just pull them out of my bag and sit them in the bin, just like I do my computer and such.  They can go through the scanning machine with no problem at all.

I have several other oils that I brought with me, like my hormone oils, but I will stop here.  :)

I just love that I did not bring one over-the-counter medication with me on this trip, and I am totally okay.  I’ve got everything I need with my oils! :)

EDITED TO ADD:  Y’all, I just find out that you get a FREE bottle of Peace and Calming if you sign up with a Premium Starter Kit until the last day of January!  This is my favorite oil that has been out of stock in like FOREVER!!  I wish I could get a PSK just so I could get my hands on Peace and Calming, but this deal is for new members only!

  1. Traci- please don’t judge NJ by the airport in Newark! :-) people get the wrong impression while passing through the airport. NJ is a beautiful state.. you just can’t tell from that location. HA! Have a blessed time. Love & prayers .. xo

  2. I love Theives, Peppermint, Stress Away and Lavendar too. Have never tried Inner Defense. I usually take Deep Relief with me and Breath Again along with Purification. I found a really pretty oils case on Amazon. I don’t know how to attach anything, even a link to this response. Let me know if you want more info. Have a safe and blessed trip!

    1. I’m out of Deep Relief, so I brought pan away with me. And I had some breathe again, but had to leave it with Adam because he hasn’t felt well this week. And I am also out of Purification! UGH! I love that oil! I just ordered some more. :)

  3. Please be safe on your trip and God Bless you and your family.
A quick question about the essential oils. Do you ingest them or just use them in a diffuser?
    Thanks for answering.

    1. Hi Toni! There are three ways you can use the oils, and I do all three. :). You can apply them to your body (topically,) inhale them (in your hands or in a diffuser,) or ingest them (with a capsule or straight in your mouth.). Although, there are some oils you do not want to ingest and you can figure that out on the bottle (or just ask me.) :) Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

  4. Thanks so much for sharing about the oils! When you return home I’d love more info if possible. I’m having some health issues right now and prefer not to take meds.

Prayers for safe travels and all good things on your trip!

  5. I love me some oils too! Today I added one drop of peppermint to my Nalgene full of water and it is sooo good and so refreshing. Peppermint is one of my favorites. I always love to use a bit of coconut oil and 1 drop of frankincense oil as a moisturizer at night after I wash my face, too. At first I thought the scent was a bit strong but now I swear that it promotes good, restful sleep which says a lot for a gal that is 39 weeks pregnant. :) Safe travels to you!

  6. Love, love, love all those oils! I’m addicted to Peppermint Beadlets, they are amazing for any digestive issue. I use Doterra which I think both Doterra and Young Living are about the BEST! Happy travels and will look forward to updates.
